Street Fighter V Rumor: X-Kira Datamines New Game Edition

X-Kira is a somewhat reliable datamine leaker, he's leaked Arcade Edition before it's official announcement, as well as the inclusions of second V-Triggers and the Extra Battle mode.

In these leaks, which is translated from Portugese by "NinjaWorldWarrior16," X-Kira claims a new edition of Street Fighter V (not Arcade Edition) is on the way, and that the new season's focus is primarily on adding defensive options to the game. One of these changes supposedly being a Killer Instinct style combo breaker that eats V-Gauge.

X-Kira is extremely hit and miss to say the least, though surely Season 4 of SF5 will contain some big changes and probably second supers at a minimum.

V-Break breaks a combo similar to Killer Instinct? that sound stupid, combos are short in SF5 (unless you use someone like Menat's V-Trigger) and a combo breaker isnt needed

They're short but even then they can take away like 60% of your lifebar.

This leaker also mentioned some Season 2 MVCI stuff, I really just want capcom to acknowledge the fate of that game. I'm on board with everything capcom right now, between Mega Man 11, Monster Hunter World, DMC5 etc... But I just can't get into Street Fighter V, and the Marvel damage still hurts. I'm not over it, almost playing other fighters in defiance tbh.

So I tried to look up X-Kira on Google and what was the last leak (or something close to it) that apparently sprung up. It covered the idea of "New stages" coming to the game.

I think it is fair to say that this one might have been incorrect... Mind you if there were leaks the guy got right in the past, then cool deal, but I do have my doubts on this as I do with most leaks.

Yeah I know about this too. The dude has gotten stuff wrong before, but as I explained he's gotten some pretty significant stuff right down to the minute detail.

X-Kira's only really reliable when it comes to upcoming costumes. If Flowtron leaks something that lines up with this, then that'll be a legit discussion.

Oh and I wouldn't doubt it. I believe I have heard of X-Kira getting some stuff correct too, so it isn't that I think he is full of it. I am in that camp where I don't care for leaks as much; at least in terms of characters. If it is something that covers things like game mechanics, stages, or what have you, I'm all for that info as long as it isn't hinting at a character's upcoming inclusion.

Also what combo breakers in SF? I laugh that would be incredibly stupid in a game about short hit confirms.

The only things I could see happening are new CAs, a second story mode, and maaaaybe the Vreversal stuff.

Kira's datamining is legit (he found references to FANG/MIKA stages that appear to have been cancelled, as well as being on the ball w/ upcoming costumes/stages during S2) but his speculation/privately sourced hit/miss rate is very off.

Two of these "leaked" mechanics are offensive options. For SFV.

And combo breakers are less of a defensive option and more of a bailout for defensive mistakes.

SFV needs adjustments, but it doesn't need mechanics from other games clumsily copy and pasted into it.

theyre not all selected individually, if I'm understanding things correctly. It sounds like it's just taking the V System and turning it into different Groove styles.

Keeping in mind this is from data mining a game still under development, not everything that has a trace in the code make it to the live version.
