Mick Gordon has done it again. The music for this in incredible and the combat themes are fucking badass. This is to killing Nazis what Doom was to killing demons.

Played about two hours of this and it's been amazing so far. Machine Games continue to be masters of presentation and gameplay. The game looks and plays amazing, and that intro... hoo boy.

By the way, anyone else having a weird issue in PS4 where the text from when you pick an item doesn't disappear entirely from the screen and just lingers there until you hit a cutscene or something else replaces it? Regular PS4 btw.

This game is truly something special! Haven't finished yet but the story is really fucking good so far. Having been on blackout since June, it has some really good twist and turns.

Mick Gordon has again nailed the soundtrack, I was sat at the main menu listening to the score, and he did a fantastic job at re-imagining the New Order theme.

Machine games are something special! Let's hope there's more Wolfy in the future.

Edit: my only problem involves the soundtrack release. What's up with Bethesda releasing some soundtracks day and date with the game (Prey) but others we end up having to wait months (Doom)?

Mick says he's in talks with them to get it sorted, but let's hope we don't have to wait too long. That guy deserves my money.

So I never played The New Order or any other Wolfenstein game. Will I be able to jump right into this one? Should I watch some YouTubes to catch up on the story?
Story starts right after the end of the previous game. You will be quite lost for the first hours if you never played TNO.

Loving the impressions I'm seeing in here. Never for a moment doubted Gordon would deliver yet again, listened to the K.I. soundtrack for damn near a year before I ever even touched the game, it was that good.

Do I also need a non-german steam account to see the non-german steam page of the game?
Although using a VPN, I'm always send over to the german version.

Some strange technical issues on PC, but the game itself is rock solid so far, 3 hours in. It's a moodier and at the same time more funny version of TNO. Definitely the best singleplayer fps since DOOM for me.

Mechanazis are like mini reapers now, the ting goes WWRRRRYYYYYYYY and boom I've got goosebumps already.

Edit: if anyone has some advice on capturing the game using OBS please tell, for me even the display capture works half the time for some reason (must be Vulcan).

I'm using Nvidia Share stuff and not OBS, but it started working a hell of a lot better once I started forcing the game to use a borderless window (I used Borderless Gaming). Then you should just be able to again have OBS capture that window instead of display (but actually, display should work too since that's how I'm capturing via nvidia).

Nope, using borderless windowed from the start, doesn't want to work at all.

Will try the Nvidia stuff though, thanks. Never used but hey, I hear it's ok.

That scene in the beginning when you meet Frau Engel is kinda weird.
It's well animated and voice acted, but...
There are half a dozen enemy soldiers in the room.
Why are they just standing and watching how that dude methodically shoots them one by one?
Why does that soldier in giant robot armor then try to strangle him so slowly and carefully? I was expecting him to tear off his head in an instant.
And why does noone try to stop main hero from putting on power armor (which he also does very slowly)?
It's like they are putting on a show.

This game is so on point.

I like how the alternate history twist allows for a sobering and relevant narrative.

Playing on Death Incarnate because fuck being a soft ass casual.

There is no other difficulty, as far as I'm concerned.

Everything I loved about the first game's world-building seems to make a return.

My only gripe so far is one that's common among sequels with returning characters, which is that while some character models benefit from the improved graphics others lose the lottery. Some don't even resemble their former selves, namely Set and Anya.

But that's it.

The game is a triumphantly uncompromising sequel so far.

Just making sure we're on the same page, the built in borderless stuff was not working for me either, so I'm forcing it using a third party app (where the game is set to "window" and the app makes it borderless.)

I like the Nvidia stuff for recording and OBS for streaming.

Copy arrived today and a couple hours in...holy shit. So fucking good but Damn it gets dark and brutal quick.

I love how the game literally starts from where the first one left off.

Also none of you better of shot the dog...

Just beat it. About 8 hours on Bring 'em on without really going out of my way to get everything done.

Kinda disappointed there weren't really any boss battles at all. Closest thing to that is the final fight which is just hordes of enemies rushing you.
Wish the ending showed the American people revolting against the Nazis. Would have been a lot better IMO

Overall a fantastic game though.

I've played about 3 hours of the game up to now and I'd say that this is shaping up to be as good as or better than Wolfenstein TNO.
This game seems far darker and more dark in tone from the very beginning.
I do have to ask though do you stay at 50 HP for the entire game or is there some way to get that back to the normal 100 HP?
I'll understand if you can't because of the 200 armor tradeoff though.
Love how they've put in a
Wolfenstein 3d arcade machine
and the quip Blazcowicz makes when you boot it made me laugh.

Speaking of which as expected Mick Gordon delivers again with the music, ever since KI I have enjoyed every soundtrack he has composed since then.

Ok so here is an odd question. It is about a collectible that appears to not be where it should be.

Chapter 1
When you are back on the Evas Hammer submarine.
There should apparently be the 7th concept art right here.
located in the Helm room, up a ladder and on top of some boxes.
qQSQKHe.jpg

Absolutely not there for me and I even reloaded to see if maybe it was just a different collectible. Nope. Nothing. Also, as of now, no one on Exophase seems to have the 100% Concept Art Collectible trophy. Any of you able to go into your menu in game and confirm you have the 7th Concept Art in Chapter 1?

I'm having a hard time affording all of these new games. I told myself I would wait until I beat Wolfenstein 1 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate before picking up the new entires today, but man W2 just looks so good. Hard to pull away from Mario though.

So torn, played the opening ten minutes and now I find myself downloading the new order from steam. I hope it still holds up, didn't realise this and it's prequel had so much story.

The graphics weren't even good by 2014 standards, but everything else should be juuuuuust fine.

You're making the right choice.

You don't HAVE to play TNO apparently, but playing through all that backstory is going to give way more impact in this one.
