Gameplay of the game from Gamexplain at PAX. Only problem is the gameplay is pretty bad lol. It's 2 minutes of walking around, 1 minute of fighting, and 4 minutes of spending time in the menu.

At least you can hear that they fixed the worst song in the game to be less annoying.

edit: ign gameplay with a competent player also showing off the co op mode.

seeing this small snippet of gameplay I'm guessing the solo play is more like the mobile version and the co op play is more like the DS version which kind of makes me want to play it "co op" but by myself.

I'm looking forward to this so much. Never finished the DS version back in the day. Idk why, i think i got at least a third of the way through.

Should be a good game for me to play between kiwami 2 and red dead.

Man I really needed to see gameplay from this to decide whether or not to stop my current DS playthrough and wait for this version. But I watched that and still have no idea.

I just want to know if it retains the "two fights at once" mechanic even without having two screens. It can be single-screen as long as they still make it feel the same as the combat in the DS version. If not then I'll just stick with the DS.

The DS version is still perfect, allowing for stylus controls is still a huge advantage that this HD port is unable to provide.

i'm going to get the game but i just know i'm absolutely going to hate the way it controls and just wish i was playing the DS version again.

Despite the person playing it (... or not), this looks TWEWY though. So I'm happy so far.

there was a gameplay video of bayonetta where it was like the person playing was playing a video game for the first time, this one was slightly less frustrating.

I know not everyone has intuition for video games. But this is comically bad.

Does Gamexplain just pull vids from other people at expo's? Or is it their recordings? Because the Dark Souls Switch gameplay a week ago was also really hard to watch.

Yep, that's TWEWY alright. Still not seeing anything that makes a triple-dip seem worth it. And gyro pointer control during heated battles sounds awful.

the characters make the game. There is quite a bit of "teen angst" in their characters but they are all pretty good. The villains are fantastic and have very distinct personalities and quirks.

I'd say the "teen angst" mostly fades away within the first third of the game.

i think most people fell in love with the game because of the characters.
i'm a little scared tho, that i loved the game when i was a teenager, but replaying it 10 years later it's gonna feel different and not as good

Never picked up this game, but I'm sort of wait-and-see on the Switch version. If people who have played the original say the Switch version has solid controls, I might pick it up.

If fans of the original claim the Switch version controls are noticeably worse than in the DS version, though, I might get the original release instead.

You weren't kidding, I struggle to imagine how they could have shown less in that 7 minute span. Seems like Sushi Striker where it's in that weird position of being absolutely better in portable mode than docked.

The Dark Souls footage was shot by Daan and it was his first time with the game and series.

This looks like a serious compromise, I wouldn't even hesitate and continue with the DS version.

I'm sure the PAX conditions weren't the best, but they were playing like they had 1 hand or something. And then leaving the video on menu screens doing nothing for far too long.
