Dota can technically have 90+ minute games but it rarely happens.

yeah but this isn't dota, thankfully. this is a card game that people will play on phones.

idk how a ~20m game is going to translate for mobile.

LUL pax line is closed for 1 hour

the chess clock + 15 second timer has to push things down to 12-15 with two experienced players

Slacks is casting with Bruno

Also looks like all attacks can only be directed forwards, so position is really important I guess
9 to 45 minutes per game sound fun to me. Also looks like Valve are letting some streamers through

attacks cannot be directed without using other cards. before a round starts, directionals are randomized - forward or forward/left or forward /right

Those IGN videos are amazing.
The game just got even more interesting. DAMN!

It looks deeper than i thought it'd be, especially considering how seemingly important card positioning is gonna be.

Weird that they got outlets to preview it instead of card game streamers and dota people.
I would have like to have seen Day9 or someone like Purge

IGN is going to make like 5 videos, see that it has no appeal to their audience and ditch it.

Those vids have definitely shown me the possible complexity of the game, my interest has certainly risen due to that.

Hopefully they release some info on a preorder for the beta access soon as I'm very unlikely to ever get my hands on a key.

i don't find it weird - as someone probably a bit too old to follow "influencers", i'm glad there's professionally edited high quality footage out right now

this game looks like each game will take too long.. I guess they are not tying any grind on winning games, because that IGN game lasted 20 minutes just for 1

Both IGN and ARS Technica started their videos with a joke about people's hate to this game, I hope people will get over it eventually because those videos looked great. better than anything I've seen in the digital card games market by leagues.

Now we wait for valve to throw us - people at home - a bone.

That's why I was hoping it would be pro card players instead of games journalists.
I don't know if the length of the game is related to not knowing how to play the game or the game just takes that long to play.

Games ranging from about 5 to 45 minutes seems about right so far. This game is very clearly more complex than Hearthstone (to pick an obvious example if your excluding an idling / roping player), so longer lengths for games should be expected.

Looking at the IGN footage, looks like idle / roping is curbed out by a 45 second turn limit, or perhaps thinks link into a set reserve time also. Either way, even with quick turns, games are lengthy - which is good imo, as this is certainly more strategy and tactics driven than any other digital card games

Get in line :P

From what I read, everyone who's getting keys at PAX is getting 2 keys at once. There should be a few on ebay in a while. And for less than the ridicoulous 200$ that one guy is wanting to earn.
$400 nao

This is just stupid! Hopefully nobody pays that price!
I'm really glad I get it free from TI. I wonder if there will be any other way to get in the beta between October and the release date. I just hope they do something like sell beta access for $10 on Steam or something just so these people selling keys for $400 get pissed like the people that were mad about the NES classic being back at normal price and easy to find.

Now we just have to hope that we don't take a repeat of a certain Dota 2 beta key incident that happened on another forum.

Seems like keys are being sold between 100-200$ by now. Hopefully prices will go down further with 2 days of Pax left.

Oh, I remember that! Was in that thread too - I agree, that was just the worst possible outcome for the Thread.

This not being free-to-play...

Will that mean you have to buy it again to play on mobile devices?

No, it will work through you steam account 100% - you either use the game through the steam app or log-in, if the game-app is stand-alone.

After watching most of the videos I'm still confused on some parts of the game.

This will probably end up being a game that I'll need to get my hands on before it clicks with me.

Seeing that TI8 tickets were about $100 and PAX West are $55, it'll make sense to go to PAX West for the Artifact beta
