I don't know what the given reason is, or if there is one, but what drives me nuts about the Dragon Quest midi music is that you can spend a couple hundred bucks and get a suite of software instruments that sounds like something approaching a real orchestra and would fool less discerning ears, not to mention all the professional tier software that's out there. No soundtrack should be sounding like that in 2018, unless you just want it to for some inane reason.

I felt like the argument was a combination of swearing is immature and the bad guys used bad words. I don't think we saw enough of the game to say the writing is bad.

Side note: I just read on reddit that they threatened to split the bomb cast into 2 if they didn't get a surge in premium subs...lol is this true??

If Dan wins the PAX Championship thing (the competition started by Kinda Funny), Giant Bomb gets the trophy. They keep it until next PAX and get to defend it or lose it to another website. I wonder if East or West gets to display it.

I'm struggling to understand why people keep saying it's just bad words when there's heaps and heaps of other M-rated games that use bad words that people don't take issue with. It's almost like it's more than just fuck and cunt being used at all.

CDPR may be a great dev studio but they don't exist in a vacuum.

But that's the part of the writing they choose to expose.

I'm personally taking a wait and see approach when it comes to the writing but you know, people judge what's there.

There's also actually a way to write cursey dialogue that is good.

It's like some people are disappointed with what they saw in the demo and hope the writing is better in the main game....and people just attack them for that by saying they don't want naughty words.

I didn't see anything questionable or worrisome about what they chose to showcase and I think it's fair to assume that over the course of what's sure to be a very long game it will feature varying styles of writing and dialogue.

Real question is, how will the puddles look?

Also, I'm not trying to diminish people's actual concerns about the writing but a lot of the comments in that thread are straight up silly and border on concern trolling.

It kind of reminds me about when people freaked out about the violence in TLOU2 trailer.
