So... Just to clarify... Isn't the 11-day early Access benefit limited to like 5 or 10 hours? It's not full and unlimited access starting on November 9th right?

Same gameplay? Except for rebalancing the squad mechanics, healing, ammo distribution, movement, recoil, calling airstrikes, destruction, moving support weapons, bullet penetration, building emplacements and bridges... Not to mention new modes.

Basically, you know shit about the game based on that one demo that you have seen.

On the contrary, most of the features you word were already present in Bad Company 2, which for me was the apex of the franchise. Yeah, now there's less amunition, yep, they changed a bit the ballistics, oh, now the health bar works in phases (didn't Killzone or Resistance worked in similar way?)... Minor changes. And some of them, like building the defensive placements, heavily critized (takes you a minute to craft what a tank blows in two shots).

The game can wear a a new and shiny tuxedo (raytracing and so) but below the surface has the same old dusty bones which started to smell to embalmed mummy hald a decade ago...

Ah... Thanks for the clarification! I followed the news about Premiere for a bit until I realized it wasn't an option on Xbox. I honestly had no idea they made this change as well.

Seems like a substantial head start for those who want to subscribe, but I'll agree that it seems like a slight on those who purchase the full game. If I had the choice, I'd probably just subscribe to Origin Access Premiere for a month or two and get my fill of the game before stopping the sub. Seems it gets you the most benefit for the least amount of cash.

Now you are jumping back to the 2010's Battlefield and other games, it doesn't support your previous statement that it is the same as BF4 (or 5-6 years of reskins). Do you want to completely backtrack on your statement that it is the same reskinned Battlefield as we have had for the last 6 years?

If you formed your statement like Battlefield is taking favorite features from all of its installments and repackaging them into BFV, it would have more credibility.

And what do you know, repairing/destroying bridges and interacting with the tank traps are the features specifically designed with vehicles in mind. A sandbag is a fortification against firearms, not shells.

Can a better release window make up for the fact that the game itself has been close a to marketing fail so far?

Honest question.

Probably not, but it can soften the blow

Honestly unless something changes in consumer reception soon I'm expecting BFV to underperform this year. Its Battlefield so it's still going to sell millions of copies make no mistake. But I expect it to be down quite a bit from BF1

I disagree. This gives them just enough breathing room from the other big releases.

1. It allows time for people to finish or tire of playing the other titles
2. Gives people a chance to gather enough funds to buy another game
3. Still just in time for the holidays
4. Gives them another month of marketing

This is a smart decision.

1. people will tire of COD and RDR2 in one month?
2. all the AAA games come out at once and it's a bloodbath, when the dust is cleared the wallets are also empty and BFV misses out
3. true
4. All people will be talking about is RDR2

• Tank customization
• Downed teammate dragging
• Co-op bot mode

Full list of the delayed features.

You forgot the BR mode and the fact that there are only 2 factions at launch and we don't even know yet how many maps there will be at launch.

Clawhand prosthetic, most impractical thing to have if you are supposed to be front line soldier. Looked so out of place.

It looks unusual but appearantly it was a real thing back then so it's not really a problem. I'm looking forward to see the reload animations with this thing.

The preorders of Battlefield V are already unusually low for reasons unrelated to the fact that the game is launching unfinished (we only learned that recently) and the possibility that the game will launch broken (we do not actually know that yet). I believe that the cause of the low preorders is related to the marketing, setting, and other games.

November 20 is about as far out as they could push it while staying in the holiday season. It reminds me of Assassin's Creed Unity's delay. DICE clearly does not have enough time to release the full game but if it launches as broken as Unity and Battlefield 4 did, they are big in trouble. This could be the perfect storm causing Battlefield V be the least successful entry in the franchise since Bad Company 1.

It is solely on the resting arm, not on the arm that does stuff. Westie said about it in one of his tweets. So it is not as bad as people make it to be. In the trailer it is easily seen but in the middle of the game almost any customisation is very, very hard to see.

Oh weird... I didn't see/hear/experience any of that personally. What "big community people" are saying this? Wonder if it's a PC vs Console thing? (i'm on PC)

He is lying, and should get his ass kicked because of it. Most likely same person compaling about SWJs and other silly things.

Game is shaping up well, devs want to get more feedback from the Open Beta and they want to polish the game little bit more. This is straight from the devs, the actual, game making devs. In Twitter. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that they get a little bit space for BF in this hectic autumn (again, straight from devs).

I'm guessing RTX Raytracing implementation? While the demo at Nvidia was impressive, it was clear more work and optimization had to be done.

Either way, more time for Dark Souls Switch.

Yes, it's prosthetic from the era. For front line soldier that thing that has zero usability as actual hand and fingers outside of some support to what ever you are supporting. It's what makes it so clown car silly thing to include, soldier with 100% useless arm for active combat situations. Place where you need be able to do mechanical operations of firearms and explosives which require accuracy and some finesse from user.

"It's just video game, who cares?!" is quite tired answer to this "issue" as by that logic absolutely nothing matters when it concerns video games yet clearly a lot people care about a lot of things in games.

I'm fine with this. Gives me more time to further dive into Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Life is Strange 2, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey over the next couple months

I mean, yeah of course. This game has only just started to be properly advertised, a lot of the things in the game were being announced as not being there at launch and the first open beta they're planning would have been about a month or so before release. It would have been insane to release this in October.

To be honest, I'm kinda disappointed by this news. I would've had more time to play in October than I will in November/December.

I honestly hope that the game does well enough. I don't want EA (or anybody really) to think that it failed because there was a woman in the cover (which is what misogynists will say if it does)

I'm going to have my 2080Ti set up by end of Sept. You're telling me I'm going to have wait another almost-2 months before I can see ray-traced reflections of explosions in players' eyes? Unacceptable. Someone is getting an email about this.

That statement is surprising. I didn't think they'd actually work to change core gameplay concepts so late in development.

I actually have hope for this game again. Gameplay tempo and player visibility are two huge improvements. Now I just hope they remove ammo boxes for ground vehicles to untether them from their safe spots, so everybody isn't a damn art truck.

Honestly I say just stick with ammo that must be recharged. Change vehicle movement and survivability so tanks will actually push the damn objective and aren't torn like paper for approaching flags.

It's a good idea. Competing with CoD, Red Dead, Forza, and Assassin's Creed is a tall task. November, by comparison, is a bit sparse.
But I'm sure people will still play these games in November and don't need another AAA title in November. Expect it's a completely different game like Smash.

Maybe they needed the extra time to prevent another Battlefield 4 situation.

Why would they delay a game a whole month on all platforms for something that only a fraction of users on one platform are going to be able to take advantage of?

Well at this point I don't know how to play it on my roster.

Spiderman, Divinity Original Sin 2 EE, Hitman 2, Fallout 76, Forza Horizon 4, AC: Od, RDR2 and Underworld Ascendant...

I mean it's a smart move by EA and DICE because of COD and RDR2 but I'm gonna skip this entry. I mean seriously by the time I finish the above it'll be 2019 which will mean RE2, KH3, Anthem, Days Gone, Metro Exodus, DMC5, Sekiro and whatever else get's shoved into Q1 that hasn't had its date set yet.

"Just another day in the office." :)
Unfortunately some mistakes have been made from either the marketing team, DICE, EA spokespeople that has rubbed people the wrong way but regardless of that I'm very much looking forward to playing this and even upgrading my PC for it.

Hopefully the delay is well justifies and allows the game to have more features and a proper clean launch.

I didn't pre order, this alternate reality take on the war is a little weird for me to get over. Like if you wanted to make a fantasy game, they could have done so.

BF 3-4 was probably the best it will ever be.

I was not a fan of BF1, so what do I know.

Because PC games make a substantial portion of their base? Not to mention games like Battlefield are often used by PC gamers as a benchmark for game performance.
