It's not missing AO. It looks as though the effect has been upgraded. Softer and more realistic.Yeah ok prefer the suit. It gives it a more natural, realistic look. However the shadows, missing AO and reflections are unfortunate. Fortunately however they're there for other scenes and it seems like it was all just changed for this particular scene.
The other lighting, AO, and particle effects look dull or downgraded as well. I'm sure they'd go for more wow factor if they could.

Reflections are not missing. They aren't as clearly visible in that SHOT, but in motion they're still there.

You don't have to have a single directional light casting all the shadows for every building in the city. Developers can choose which light effects which object and change things to fit the mood they want. Its not anything like how light works in real life.So there are two direct Sun sources now? People are gonna call you a shill. The reason im defending insomniac is because they've given so much proof they can handle all the things people claim were downgraded. The puddles, density, textures on the suit are all there.
Traffic density looks fine.
This is not proper ingame but there's more scenes in the trailer that are definitely ingame and show a comparable traffic density to older shots.

The streets are wet here, doubt Insomniac would have troubles extending SSR in that particular spot of the demo.
There is no way they are just using a single direct light source from the sun outside in Spiderman. If they did that the open world would look like the moon with areas fullbright and other areas pitch black. Lights are faked in games using invisible lights everywhere and shadows, especially things like contact shadows, are faked in screen space.So there are two direct Sun sources now?
