Huh! That's sort of neat actually, though I can see myself hitting it on accident a lot with how I hold my phone.Yup, Xperia's have had a dedicated 2-stage shutter button for many, many years. It quick launches direct to the camera as well, instead of having to use the power button or some other way of waking up the phone first.

It's 2 stage button so if you hold it lightly it wouldn't launch the camera. You would need to press it in with moderate force for ~1 second for it to launch the camera.Huh! That's sort of neat actually, though I can see myself hitting it on accident a lot with how I hold my phone.
It looks like the Xperia XZ3 is leaking prior to tomorrows announcement:

More colors shown at the link. Here are the rumored specs:
If accurate then I can at least say I like the design a bit more than the XZ2. Was hoping to see the 48MP camera sensor in action, but I suppose that'll be next year.
There's variant with 6gb
I've been using their phones for years and have yet to accidentally hit that button. Currently using last years XZ Premium.
Some rumors saying the XZ2 Premium will be Sonys last LCD flagship. Can't wait to see what next year's Premium looks like.

SD636 for 350€ isn't a bad deal, I mean HTC's are a bit overpriced cause they still have some magic left when it comes to build quality. And that back glass is pretty damn unique. 3.5mm jack is also a huge plus, and its the 2nd and only SD636 device without a notch.
That's exactly the phone I was referencing to actually. The battery is bigger by only 400mAh, and I also trust HTC in terms of build quality, aftermarket service and camera quality. Of course there are now phones out there that can cost the same for far more, Nokia 7 Plus here's looking at you, but I absolutely would pay the premium because its HTC.If you're in a market with Xiaomi presence, it's a terrible deal. The Redmi Note 5 has the same chipset and does absolutely everything the HTC does for ~200€ except NFC and USB-C port, and it also has a bigger battery.
Apparently if you pre-order via Amazon in the US you get a pair of Xperia Ear Duos thrown in. $279.99 regular price tag. Makes the price of the XZ3 and lack of headphone jack a lot better.
The Axon 9 Pro sports a dedicated display processor separate from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 powering the device. This processor interpolates all video data before it reaches the screen, similar to something you would find on a high-end TV. It artificially increases the frame rate of all video to 60fps, including media from local storage, YouTube, and even games.
This design decision is extremely interesting because not all video was made to be viewed at 60 frames per second. Things like movies and YouTube were specifically crafted at 24 and 30 frames per second, and it is a bit odd to artificially interpolate content to a higher frame rate. The biggest benefit I see from this technology is gaming.
Hm, I'd be interest in some reviews to see if they are actually more comfortable now. I love my MDR-1000Xs, but I can't bear to wear them more than a couple of hours at most until my right ear especially gets irritated to the point of it being too uncomfortable to bear. Got some QC35s just because they're more comfortable. But the sound quality and overall convenience of the buttons and the quick attention mode are far ahead of Bose's AAC set. They're fine, don't get me wrong, but if these are comfortable like the Bose's (and hopefully don't creak as much when you're moving), they could be my next set.The real megaton here is the return of king: https://www.gsmarena.com/the_new_so...cated_noisecanceling_processor-news-33014.php
I'll ask both here and the apple thread...
First off to preface; I am dumb. I have an iphone 8 which I do like, and have no issues with... but since we are preconditioned to want new shiny things AND the fact that my contract is up in November I was thinking of giving my wife my iphone since she is having issues with hers.
I have had all android phones up until this iphone to so I am not really against going back to android or staying. I guess my question is there anything really worth upgrading to right now? S9? S9plus? I could switch carriers and get a Pixel 2 XL (but not the pixel 2) but I have heard of screen issues with it.
Or do I just wait it out? Iphone x once the new one comes out later in sept?
Wait for the new iPhones (September) and Pixels (October) before making a decision.
Already down to ~700 on swappa, depending on model
Lol this is why you don't buy Samsung phones at launch

Fake news. Most are around 850 or higher. The one 765 is US Cellular.
It is, but I don't have the kind of moolah to dish out for one, I get my phones through carriers usually. My small pixel 2 is incredible. Most reliable phone I've ever used. It has a different panel than the 2XL you have been hearing about.
Isnt the Google Store in Canada (online)? All pixels are unlocked and can be used on all carriers.

eeeeenteresting. I will look into this! The Google Store has payment plans just like the carriers. They also have a trade in program and typically offer a free incentive if you buy at launch.
It's open style so you wouldn't hear the difference considering you're letting in outside noise.
Regular Pixel 3 leaked. They managed to fuck this one up too https://9to5google.com/2018/08/30/f...pixel-3-surface-specs-also-confirmed-gallery/
2915mah battery is pathetic and they downgraded it to a 1080p screen.
My mistake. I thought Pixel 2 was 1440p. There is no way 2700mah gets you "great" battery life though if you use your phone at all.Stopping spewing nonsense.
My Pixel 2 has a 2700 mah and it gets great battery life. The screen is also 1080p.
This is a healthy bump in the battery department and perfect screen resolution. Samsung leaves their phones on 1080p be default. Lol.

I notice it, but I do alot of text reading. The screen on the OP6 is nice though. It's the best 1080p screen I've used.I have to be honest, I haven't had a 1080p screen in years until I got the OnePlus 6 and you don't even notice it at all. As long as it has a good screen with vibrant colors, you'll be fine with 1080p on 5.5 inch
Pic of battery stats with sot?Pixel 2 is very battery efficient. Not every Android phone uses the same amount of battery.
Yeah okay, that's fair. You do notice it if you pay attention to text, I'll give you that.I notice it, but I do alot of text reading. The screen on the OP6 is nice though. It's the best 1080p screen I've used.
