This one is actually a much bigger difference & im surprised people are getting more angry at puddles instead, i think the early 2016 footage was more of a target render though, way too much density below to run on even high end PC's.

No one gets as excited about upgrades as people get mad about any possible hint of downgrades. But people are dumb enough to call any change, upgrade or not, a downgrade because it looks different, if the comparison images were reversed i'd still think a lot people would get mad anyway . It doesn't require knowing shit to be mad about anything, i know because i was a concern troll and big huge fucking dumbass when Brawl came out so the talking points i had arguing with my friends were coming straight out of my ass and massive delusions i had about the game that were unrelated to game media i would consume, literal garbage was made up as i opened my mouth.

I think the guys response tweet about "looking at the code" is ridiculous though lol. You, a non Dev, looked at graphics engine and lighting code and can confirm that there's no downgrade, even though it wouldn't show in code? Was there a line of code like:

Lol don't for one second try and act like this site is above that, or Reddit. Have you never been in a DF graphics comparison thread? Some people will argue that a one off 1fps difference for 1 split second makes the version trash compared to another even though it's running at twice the resolution lol.

Just wanted to mention that I went back and watched the " just the facts-new York " trailer again and it looks fabulous.
No worse than any previous showing in regards to anything really. Suit detail, textures, traffic density.. all seems intact.
I suggest you do the same: I was also in the "doesn't look as good as it used to" camp before.
