Still not live in the U.K. So odd because the U.K. eShop has updated.

Also the news channel says that the game is now available but it isn't yet playable.

Really looking forward to impressions of this one. Unfortunately, I don't have time to check it out myself right now. Excited for this to unlock for all of you though :)

I saw Mark Brown playing this yesterday. He seemed to find it just OK, and from what I've seen, I agree, it seems very classical. I liked Shovel Knight and this seems pretty similar but 88 on metacritic, I don't see what justifies it.

Of course not. I'm trying to determine if it's worthwhile for me. I just don't see enough uniqueness. I'm wondering what others are seeing.

played an hour, sound and gfx are on point but it is really easy so far...need to spend more time with it to say more. It is unique because of the silly humour and enemies.

i hope it ramps up difficulty wise because yeah, too easy...everything moves fairly slow

This was supposed to unlock 25 minutes ago on Steam, what's the deal?

EDIT:

Looks like they got the release time wrong by an hour.

I'm really curious about the game but I'm super worried about the difficulty... I'm really not that good at 2D Platformers... I got through Shovel Knight but that's probably the thoughest 2d Platformer I have ever played through.

1.74 euro is amazing on the mex shop, shame I can't access that bastard with my CC. 15.5 in South Africa for fellow EU players but I'm not really interested at the moment. The 16 bit parts look amazing though.

Yes, you'll be fine. My impressions- https://www.resetera.com/threads/the-messenger-ot-ninja-in-a-cursed-world.64935/page-2#post-12047693

The game does start off easier than things get, but I can't say I've struggled with anything at the point where I am now in the game (having completed the first part of the game, which felt like a complete game by itself!).

Yeah I've been playing during my lunch break lol. I'm in the Catacombs now. Enjoying it so far and I really love the writing!

It's a blast and it just keeps getting better. I marked out when I got to the 16-bit stuff for the first time. Felt like completing an NES game and then getting to play its SNES sequel immediately! XD

Really wish the conversation going into this game among gaming outlets wasn't "wow so many metroidvanias this summer" but I guess I understand. Hope it is a success!!

I don't usually buy digital indies like this right at launch, but something about this one really speaks to me. Very cool so far! Glad to hear it isn't extremely demanding either. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy games like that too, but Celeste is just kicking my ass, so this will be a good breather.

Played an hour, controls feel excellent. Really slow and easy buildup though. Not a big fan of the green triangle collectibles since they apparently they do nothing until you get all 44 of them or whatever.

Hm, I'm not quite feeling this game yet. So far, the bosses have offered zero challenge. The dialogue is absolutely terrible, and the music is nowhere near as good as I had hoped it would be. Oh well, I'll keep on playing. Hopefully it will get better.

This was such a pleasant surprise. Looks so great.

Here's where I saw the dev respond.

The comment in question: "Hey Roald, I'm Thierry, one of the devs - without getting into how this line made it into the game, as I think the explanation would seem made up on top of missing the important point that people feel uncomfortable, let me say that I agree this bit is in poor taste, and will be removed from the game before release. Thanks for the feedback!"

From everything I saw, this issue was the only thing leaving me iffy. Will buy and dive in now without qualms.

I played through the first areas and first boss, then did a bit of the next area. I like this game. Great controls, great visuals and catchy tunes. I'm playing the Switch version in portable mode. So far it's one of the more immediately appealing indie / pixel art games I've played in a while. (I dislike most rogue likes and most forms of random generation, which I find to be the single worst design crutch).
