Damn, that oil and fire synergy!Full Tactics makes the game so easy even at 4 Cell. Just dodge and let the turrets do all the work.

You don't have to spend your cells. You can keep all the ones you find early on and save them until you get to him.Had my best ever run today, got to the clock boss for the first time and beat them on the first try!
Really just got lucky with an awesome yellow arrow trap that tears through everything and then I got a great yellow ice blast as well.
But the level after that boss kicked my ass pretty hard, felt like I almost got through it, but not far enough. Got too cocky early on and had to use both my health flasks too early.
I do have one question: how are you ever suppose to get enough cells for the weapon rarity percentage upgrades? The first one is 1000 (and the others are way more)
and the only time that guy seems to show up is after bosses and I only ever have like 20 cells whenever I find them which has only been about 3 times.
Do you get a upgrade at some point that gets you more cells, or does that guy eventually show up more often?
If not it seems like I'll have to do hundreds of runs (and get to at least 1-2 bosses every time).
Having a LOT of trouble and not sure why. I haven't gotten a meaningful upgrade since the statue teleport and have about 15-ish hours in the game. I generally rush for the Ossuary, but have not fought a boss aside from the first boss on the bridge. I make extensive use of traps, which feels cheap, but at times the only way to get past certain encounters. Elite mobs FUCK me up. Those big dudes with the katanas in the Ossuary can eat a big bag of dicks. At this point, none of the things I'm spending cells on feel like upgrades, just side-grades of new equipment, half of which I don't want. I don't want shields, and I don't want sandals, hammers, or the big swords. It's annoying that half the shit I have to unlock is stuff I don't want.
Am I doing something wrong? Any tips besides gittting gud?
PS: the sepulcher shadow-DOT thing is some bullshit
Oh WOW. I had no idea you could smash through the Collector's door, haha. You don't have to spend your cells. You can keep all the ones you find early on and save them until you get to him.
Yeah it's no fun. I've made it to him 5 times with a variety of builds and I can't beat him. The other bosses I can take. Out in under 30 secs.Still haven't beaten HOTK after like 30+ hours. He does too much damage for me to handle. Even my best runs. I'm still not even close.
Did you kill the king ?I just beat HotK for my first time after 25 hours! Got an awesome set of weapons that just destroyed everything:
But the game still says I haven't finished any games??
:-(

Yes, it helps a lot to optimize your stats toward one primary that you use for damage and stop adding to the others since they stop giving more than 15% or so for health bonuses. As secondary stats I usually go for 5 in brutality, 4 in tactics, or 7 in survival, since their HP bonuses decay at different rates. Then as much in your primary as you can, and make sure all your damage dealing items match that stat.-Should I min max my stats or is it better to balance them out to get the most out of my health?
-How useful are shields really? I feel like a dodge puts me in better positions to fight mobs than a parry.
I'm not normally into rogue-likes.. I feel like they are a waste of time/progress. But this game.. Man, really really enjoying it. I have it on the Switch and something about being mobile with it and play it short bursts - just works man.
Only got as far as the Clocktower so far - i'm using all your tips and tricks to plan my next run.
When you throw it at an enemy, it turns them elite AND spawns another item called the blueprint extractor. You have to pick up the blueprint extractor and then use it on the elite after getting its health below 40%I have question I'm sure someone has an answer to. How the hell does the blueprint bomb/trap work. I threw it at an enemy, made them elite, then I killed them, later down the road, in another level, I found something that says basically throw it at an elite? I'm assuming I did something out of order? Hopefully I'm not required to fill up two trap boxes with those at the same time.

Conjuctivius is really fun. Concierge has become a snoozefest auto win for me. Timekeeper is similarly not much of a challenge anymore, as long as I use a shield. The other day I finally had a good enough loadout to beat Conjuctivius, but then I buttfumbled against the elite in the Slumbering Sanctuary and didn't get the Spider Rune. Blergh. I hate running through the Sewers and Conjuctivius is the worst boss. I just want to get that damn rune so I never have to go that way again.
Yikes !

I've never lost to Conjunctivius and I only use tactics loadouts so it's certainly possible.I think my problem with Conjuctivius is he's a boss that requires a specific loadout to be successful against, while I've beaten both Concierge and Timekeeper with some grade A weird loadouts. Part of the fun for me is being successful with weird combinations I've never tried before. But due to the nature of the Conjuctivius fight, most Tactics/trap loadouts are just ineffective to the point that the fight isn't winnable.
Nah. You need the health benefit. Not to mention there's very few tactics weapons that give you a damage reduction: only the icw bow to my knowledge does, and slow/stopping statuses seem to work less on bosses as the fight progresses, making them useless (unfortunately as I found out, this also applies to rampart's shield). Yeah turret spam has the damage, but the castle elites will rip you a new one if you somehow get past all the inquisitors.Yikes !
Tactics build is clearly the definitive build for the first HOTK kill if you're struggling. Let the turrets do all the damage, focus on dodging and jumping around like a madman.

What? I just beat Conjuctivius for the first time with a tactics loadout.
Yes. The extra cells more than make up for what you miss out on.Is it worthwhile to go after timed doors? For me to make it, I obviously have to speed run levels and not explore at all.

Each one leads to the next. So there's a path somewhere that became available with the ground slam rune, and that leads to the last one you're missing.Am I right in assuming that the permanent upgrades, like ground slam, teleport statues, and the vines to climb, getting those type of upgrades are linked to a specific location? Because I feel like there's one I'm not finding, and I don't know where to look anymore.
The only thing I can't seem to still do is go up these tall pathways that go upward, that seem like I should have a high jump or something for. If so, where should I find the encounter for this upgrade, because I feel like I've scouted all the ones I go to.
Ah, that's probably the area I explored the least. ありがとうございました!Each one leads to the next. So there's a path somewhere that became available with the ground slam rune, and that leads to the last one you're missing.
Details:
You have to use the ground slam in Toxic Sewers to go to the Ancient Sewers, then follow that path. Next rune is in the Slumbering Sanctuary
