I am temporarily living abroad but I'm Mexican, based in Mexico, and I only have Mexican payment methods (so my account has always been Mexican), so yeah.

So you don't abuse it, that's why I prefaced it. A lot of people started abusing regional pricing as the difference can be staggering.

Really not enjoying the game. Not fond of how any of the characters play, the game also looks pretty awful. Another odd thing is you apparently can't see your opponent's Gamertag online? That just seems weird.

I wouldn't recommend this game at all... Especially stay away at 40.

I'm not sure the developers have taking the right lessons in trying to simplify the controls. My initial impressions is that it feels like they have swapped joystick motion complexity for button complexity (talking from a game pad point of view).

There are too many moves that require multiple buttons to be pressed than there are shoulder pad buttons. It ends up just creating a different kind of finger gymnastics.

The special button really wasn't needed. It's moves could have easily been implemented into the light and heavy attacks. If they had done this, it would have said up a face button for heavy skill.

I think Cross Tag battle is an excellent example of reducing the input complexity but maintaining the game's depth.

I get what you mean - it might even be more to memorize, but taking away joystick motions makes it a lot more playable on Switch (I believe the target console), plus there's so much less for execution errors and combo drops.

I haven't played XTag... what are it's buttons and special inputs like?

I had to refund it because the game failed to recognize diagonal inputs from DS4 and, while using other tools like ds4windows solved the issue, it introduced another one where all the buttons were switched. (eg R2 became start and start was R3)

It was fun for the brief moment I played with the keyboard however.

Two attack buttons, one button that is an overhead or a sweep, tag, and partner assist.

Uses quarter circle motions for specials. Ex moves are one button press plus motion. Supers are throw plus quarter circle motion. DP is two buttons.

Auto combo on both attack button. No need to double tap to run/dash (always running), and throws auto run to the opponent for a set distance.

Is it me or is Shovel Knight unable to do diagonal jumps?
Are you sure it's not this:

You can do diagonal jump using the left analog stick
BUT the analog stick it lacks the precision of the directional buttons. And I keep messing up inputs.

And I encountered the 'R2 swapped with Start button' issue when playing in Ubuntu with Steam Proton in Big Picture mode. No button swap issues in Windows though.

So yeah, lots of rough edges.

Edit: Haven't tested personally, but it seems that turning off Xbox Configuration Support in Big Picture mode solves the inputs problems?

Finally got the version I wanted so I'm just now playing it. This is fun! And as others have said, seems quite accessible -- I don't really mind swapping directional input complexity for button complexity. It means I can play somewhat accurately in handheld mode when I don't wanna use my arcade stick.. I'm getting a kick out of the movesets they made for the crossover characters I like. I did find one command list typo so far though.

Also, does anyone have a list of all the movesets/attack names for all the characters? I like having them in front of me rather than referring to the menu all the time.

Got my copy in today, finally. Got the Quote cover and the Solange charm, am okay with the former but would have preferred Kawase for the latter. Oh well.

Have only had a chance to play the first couple of matches of a story so far but the game seems simple and fun and I like the look of the stages
