I kind of want to play this game. This is just about being a dick against everyone. Straight up my alley.

I had not heard of this game until yesterday and now it's my most anticipated game. I want to be an asshole goose SO BAD you guys.

Also, I love the aesthetic, reminds me of this zaniness:

Other devs can strive to render each individual pore on a person's face, but they'll never come close to the raw realism of Untitled Goose Game.

I entirely agree that it was the highlight of the showcase. For me, this game represented a huge split between the old, retro style indie games, which are still focused on nostalgia, and a new wave of experimental indie games, both aesthetically and gameplay-wise. The latter includes this and also stuff like Donut County (can't believe it's not on Switch), Gorogoa, Kentucky Route Zero etc.

The last Alpha version I played essentially made the game feel like metal Goose solid. When you get into a particular zone, you get a list on notebook paper with to-do items written in cursive. Some of them are about moving items around the level, some of them are about pestering and annoying particular humans, and some of them are about leading humans into situations that you have set up for them. And most of these tasks rely on employing stealth and finding hiding spots, but you also easily get to retry tasks pretty quickly after being found out if you mess up. so it is a little more kid-friendly without feeling boring or simplified.

I honestly think the gameplay reveals that come in the near future, hopefully including Pax West, look even better than this awesome trailer. I'll try to get impressions up at ars technica if the game is indeed at Pax West!

I hope the game is completely open in a seamless world. I love being able to just walk by stuff and ignore it, only to explore it later. If this game offers that vibe (they did say 'sandbox' in the direct) then it could be GOAT material. I hope they don't segment it into levels/missions or something. The game needs that open-ended, explore-the-options feel.

The game's trailer on Nintendo's YouTube channel has surpassed 100k views, making it (so far) the most viewed trailer of all the new indie games showcased in the last two Nindie Directs... Unless I'm blind cause It's late over here and I should go to bed instead of making stats for silly games about geese (no, not that one)

If there isn't an opportunity to harass 2 legally distinct policemen in this game it's a missed opportunity. I know it's a swan in Hot Fuzz, but a goose is close enough.

Fuck yeah, Australian made game too! Go us!

Edit: Melbourne, in fact. As noted by the "Flim Victoria" logo.

This is incredible. Thank you for sharing.
lol no problem. I always love seeing that monster posted on the Internet mainly because I have first hand experience dealing with him. The goose made a nest just outside the door and being a goose, is extremely territorial. Even so, if you so much as even looked at it the wrong way it would honk and chase you. Literally this guy or another one of it's flock chased me through the parking lot, it was terrifying.

Geese truly are hellspawn.

I was basically sold on this game when I saw a gif on Reddit a few months back, very glad it's coming to Switch.

This game looks hilarious! The first thing it reminds me of is the Regular Show episode with the asshole geese. It's one of their best. Here's a little bit of it:

As for this game, it's definitely on my radar.

Everything about this is perfect. Although I'm guessing it gets old after two hours or so, but I'm willing to pay for that.

Titled Goose Game would be like the "Project Octopath Traveler" to "Octopath Traveler" transition, it's been done.

No, in that case it would just be called 'Goose Game'. 'Octopath Traveler' isn't a joking reference to the fact it used to be prefixed with 'Project', it's just making the title official.

I remember getting excited when I first saw a trailer of this months ago. Seeing announced yesterday on the Nindies Direct for a console was of utmost joy.

UGG looks as great as ever. Really excited for it.

I hope horrible goose has enough feats to dethrone Solid Snake's sneaking successes. From the trailers alone, horrible goose deserves the crown.

I thoroughly enjoyed this:

Didn't know the publishers were the folks behind Coda on Mac. I've stuck with some of their software since the earliest versions and they've always done right by me; this is just further evidence of their good judgment.

I was quite amused at what we saw of Untitled Goose Game, without necessarily thinking I'll pick it up myself down the road, but what really took me by surprise was the overwhelming interest in the trailer. By the looks of the /r/NintendoSwitch subreddit, for instance, you would think this was the megaton announcement of the summer next to Diablo III and Doom Eternal. It stood out immediately in a crowded market, and that's no small feat. I know a lot of it is may just be appreciation for how unique and different it looks rather than serious interest in playing it, but maybe this is another Golf Story where a minute of footage sufficed to tap into the hidden desires of thousands who never knew, but now know, that being a massive nuisance as a goose was what they always wanted. In a crowded market like this, you have to admire something that stands out from the crowd with such immediacy.

I watched the direct with my non-gamer-besides-Mario(-and Zelda-occasionally) fiance and the only game that caught his attention was this. Quite literally the second he saw the art style, he said he wanted it.

lol, this is the same Cabel who made that hilarious DS Lite review way back in the day, right?

You guys remember this (don't forget to watch parts 2 and 3)?

Makes sense that a guy with this kind of humor would want to publish this soon-to-be masterpiece haha.

Cabel has made much good internet content and I'm going to surface/out some of it now.

He wrote and performed "Buggy Saints Row: The Musical" in 2006 and it's still catchy:

He was also the creator of sidetalkin.com, that site full of people talking awkwardly on their Nokia ngage.
