I don't believe labeling people who commented on hair styling is a strong alt-right component. I'm sorry. It's an absurd talking point and very strange. This doesn't make me a victim of anything.
Pretty much, when the important moments happen in empire, and even ROTJ, I hang on every word. I couldnt bring myself to care about anything ppl were saying in this movie tbh

Can you help me with the "alt-right" rumor about Rain Johnson being fired? I did a very simple search "Disney cancels Rain Johnson trilogy" and the first link is from some generic comic book site, and going back through links on various stories, it seems it all originated from some vague comment by a set worker saying they were doing stuff on Tatooine that is now on hold, and they speculated it could be an Obi-Wan spinoff or maybe Johnson's trilogy starting on Tatooine. And "they're going to fire Kennedy" seems to originate from a comic YouTuber who had a "source in the top secret meeting" or whatever. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I don't think it started with bad people, just maybe spread by people using it to get rid of the most powerful woman executive in the industry?
Edit: lol, nevermind. Just got to the point in her video where she's complaining about the new SJW Star Wars fans hijacking the franchise to push political beliefs. "You came into our house!" And, of course, now I'm seeing videos for Ben Shapiro owning snowflakes and his Last Jedi review.

This is where it gets dicey. If the alt-right's biggest successes or targets are Disney, then I feel generally okay with their effectiveness. I mean, they aren't exactly championing Warner.
Various alt-right rags banned from the site discussed it and alt-righters had spread it online. Some stray people picked it up but it is an alt-right thing.

PurpleGAF is basically a self-imposed stupidity quarantine for those deathly allergic to both self-awareness and personal growth.
Just the same 300+ people wearing the same avatars and screennames they've had for 10 years, having the same loudly circular arguments they've had since before this place was first owned outright by a jug-eared creep, marking time until another 10 years passes without anyone even once partially noticing their (largely artificial and lamely appropriated) personalities have calcified as if Medusa herself had stared at their adolescence.
(Can't wait for the orgiastic semi-anonymous masked self-congratulation sure to ensue on the one-year anniversary of fleeing the orange version to set up a purple version whose overriding aims and community philosophies are literally no different than Jack Dorsey's.)
It's hilarious how people here, of all the places, have a hard time believing Luke Skywalker could make similar mistakes as the ones he made made as a young man—that he could have aged decades and not really changed much as a person—as if "never change, never grow, just keep doing the exact same shit you did when you first got here 12 years ago" isn't this (thoroughly busted) "community"'s bedrock foundation.

The only plausibly sexist discussion that I noticed was about Holdo's hair and dress. That got shut down quick and rightly mocked. If you feel differently, report the posts in question and let the mods handle it.
I don't dislike Bobby, so I'm glad he is back here in some variant. As a movie guy, he is generally a good time. At the same time, he might be as much of a sucker as me when it comes to taking the bait.
