What we'd heard of the V2 was very underwhelming and didn't really give it a reason to exist - same as the V1 but with a different connector (whoop de doo), a non removable battery (yuck), possibly adjustable tension sticks, and a 3rd position for the trigger lock.

The white one looks amazing, just wish all the buttons were black.

Eh, Bluetooth support would've been nice, and I see many complains about current model's build quality. Hopefully at least THAT is solved in the new model.

Slightly OT question, but does anyone here have one of the newer Samsung QLED TV's? I'm really thinking about getting one as I finally make the jump to 4K, but I'm curious about their advertised integration with Xbox One X. The idea of not needing to tweak the video settings seems like a dream that's too good to be true.

Seeing the initial reaction to the game. It wont bomb imo,
Can't say I agree. As I said yesterday :

Control is literally all but in name QB2 idk how people can say otherwise.

Honestly.. Control, much like QB, is getting a pretty muted response. I dunno if it was such a smart decision to carry on with that style of game (though I'm glad as I quite enjoyed QB). Views are low, twitter etc has barely any followers and even the reveal thread on here has like 10 pages or something with a lot of posts in recent pages coming from the Dev/Pub. Can't help but feel that even with the inclusion of PS4 the game is just gonna come and go, much like with QB. There's also that Twitter poll asking what platform people are getting it on and the vast majority picked Xbox again, who's customer base which didn't exactly light up sales on QB.

Just something I found interesting I guess, considering all the fanfare surrounding "Quantum Break would've done better if it was on Playstation" I expected a more positive response to it.

I was going to get the QLED but decided not to for various reasons.

In relation to perfect settings is not true. Each viewer literelly has an unique way to views colors from a TV. What seems too yellow for you, might be perfect for me. What seems too blue for me, it might be perfect for you etc.

The TV comes with a basic setting that "most casual" users might enjoy.

But if you dig around in sites like avsforums, there are literally dozens of several setting choices for many to try out. Daylight in the room also affects the final choice.

Agree for Bluetooth and in regards to build quality... Idk... It's true mine is relatively new (less than a year) but I think is of a good quality and it's in perfect conditions (must be said that I'm the kind of person to always put it back in it's case after I'm done using it)
These things don't get mass produced as they can't be due to their highly individual designs.
I think the comment might be motivated because they've already had super cool-looking editions (Black Panther one comes to mind) but not available to everyone, and the first one that will be (BFV) is a little lackluster specially considering making those versions was kinda "their thing" but lately PS4 (wich had struggled with special editions 'till not too long ago) has recently launched some really cool SE (God of War and 500M edition are in my opinion the best SE Sony has made this gen by far)

I thought I was set on that TV, but I'm now finding myself considering an OLED anyway. I thought the marketing seemed a bit too good to be true, and I generally fiddle with my TV a lot. Thanks for your input!

What TV did you end up going with in the end?

OLED
LOL

Yeah, I did extensive research leading up to my latest TV purchase. I was very close to purchasing QLED (I usually buy Samsung products and my older TVS in the house are also Samsung), then I started to compare and contrast. Actually, after I discarded the QLED, I was also close to purchasing Sony 950. It was actually better than the QLED in many areas.

Then, I finally made my decision and I purchased the OLED. Nothing came close to it according to real users and professional reviews. I am beyond satisfied with the TV. The colors are unmatched.

to this day I still can't believe the black levels. oled was one of the best purchases I ever made with no buyers remorse.

LG 65" OLED B6. Best TV I ever owned.

Thank you kind folks for the input! I think I'll just end up going with the LG C8 then and save myself $300. I want my One X to really shine, and it seems like that's the best option all around.

You should take into account how dark or bright the room is the TV is supposed to be used. For me OLED was the best choice because the room where I watch TV and game in has not much light and I don't need the brightness where the QLEDs excel. You have to know OLEDs in general can't produce the same levels of brightness like a QLED.

OLED also has Dolby Vision, something QLEDs have not.

Yep yep! That weighed heavily in my decision and it was part of the reason why I leaned towards the QLED. As I thought more about it, I realized that most of my TV time happens in the early morning or late afternoon/evening. Though I have plenty of windows in my living room, they won't bother me too much as a result.

Before the One X was released, I did a lot of research on 4K HDR TV's. I ended up buying an OLED and have no regrets.

Am I the only one very disappointed in today's announcement? It seems like Tom Warren and certain other Xbox people hyped up #ProjectWashburn for weeks just for it to be a white controller and console. Like that was hardly anything worth giving a codename to or hyping up.

MS announcing all those console bundles but the Xbox itself not having a unique look was a missed opportunity really. This should have been the Shadow of the Tomb Raider bundle

https://www.ebay.com/rpp/charityshop/TombRaiderXbox

I would have loved it and it would have sold a lot more but the custom design meant Mass production is hard as Klobrille mentioned. Also, the custom console would cost a lot more to manufacture.

I think the Gears 4 Xbox Bundle was the last one which had a custom design and looked Rad!

Is funny how Vanguard makes Remedy even more atractive for Microsoft to purchase, and most unlikely to happen at the same time.

As expected their third project isn't AW2 but a "development team that will act with a startup mentality within the stability of a large company. Its mission is to challenge conventions and to prototype and ship new types of ongoing live multiplayer game experience".
MS does not need A multiplayer game Really a hope the large Compeny Is Sony or Nintendo

Well it wasn't MS hyping you for it, always take it with a grain of salt if it doesn't come from the source.

It's one of the reasons why I can't empathize at all with people who leak stuff. People hear tidbits of completely unrelated projects leaked by people who don't really know much, or who might know a lot about one thing but could be oblivious about other things, and then external people conflate everything together and hype things up in silly ways.

But it is the reason why we have 40k posts in less than a year in this topic. Keeps us going. Lol.

When people says a certain developer or publisher can't be purchased I roll my eyes. If the ceo is really serious about investing in Xbox than anyone in the industry is up for grabs for them.
They are worth 850 billion$ and have 150$ billion in cash just ready to spend.

I never said they can't be bought. Heck, MS has a massive amount of cash. I'm just saying it won't happen. You can see what kind of growth they are looking for. Broadening their line-up, increasing the value of Gamepass and looking for the next billion gamers. (Minecraft).

But sure, discuss everything you want. But I'm only expecting <1 billion dollar/ <200 developer studios as acquisitions. And I hope they don't touch big studios and publishers. That's not good for the growth of the industry.

I do not get the last point. The industry will grow regardless of who is bought or not bought.

Game development has been growing with more and more developers coming up even as studios are being closed. The same thing happens with publishers e.g. Midway is gone.

The thing that seems to be getting lost in this discussion of Remedy is Microsoft is obviously looking for value when making purchasing decisions. Nothing about Remedy is cheap and their games are good, but not anything worth paying what would likely be top-tier pricing, both in trying to acquire the studio and using them as a second-party studio for a Quantum Break or Alan Wake sequel. When doing the cost-benefit analysis of working with Remedy again, I think Microsoft just didn't see it as being a good value.

Unless they were able to change and make games way faster (and better), Remedy would be an awful purchase.

I also think it won't happen. And even if they where green lighted 5 billon$ worth of acquisitions spending that all on 1 dev like cd project would be very dumb.

Damn, is this new?

I can now choose to which Xbox I want to remote install a game. This is so awesome.

Yeah, in a perfect world this would be the case, I suppose.
But in our, little less than perfect world even if the CEO have faith in one of the streams he has to get approval from the shareholders, they need to see if the return of an investment is good enough to even start thinking about it and so on, and so on. Not to mention that, in case of a big publisher, there are shareholders on the other side of the table too and they also need to approve the acquisition if you don't want to get into a hostile takeover scenario. Just watch how Yves Guillemot and the Ubisoft leaders fought to not get taken over by Vivendi.

So yeah, it doesn't hurt dreaming about who MS will buy next with their seemingly endless money but I highly doubt that there'll be any acquisitions of this kind in the near future.
