Somebody vandalized the ResetEra Wikipedia page.

That user posted a publicly available company twitter profile, I don't think many would consider that doxxing, however it was considered internet sleuthing of a potentially unrelated employee and the user was permanently banned for it.
I remember Resetera was in the process of being made and Gaf was a total mess, so I searched on google a bit just to see what other forums said about the situation cause' I was bored. There was an awful site I came across (don't remember what it's called anymore), and it had multiple posts on how they're going to sabotage the new site (lol) and create new accounts to troll.
What was the most funny (or really sad?) about it was that they were talking like it was their life and it was all they had to do.

...I did not know they got banned. Without them that Daily Caller jackass would have run amok. I'll leave it here, I'm just kind of shocked.
Edit: I do understand why the ban happened though, it really was an unfortunate situation.

Apologies then. Following the thread at the time they werent banned after the mod edit.
It is unfortunate what happened, but we have been clear on our stance on this. I don't think the situation with the Daily Caller poster would've played out much differently had those articles not been posted, perhaps just not quite so swiftly.

I really don't know. I don't even edit wikipedia pages.
Eh, terribly low effort edit and typical alt right/right wing talking points of calling everything communism/antifa.
Some people put so much effort on hating this site because, in the Trump era, caring about strictly moderating a community is seen as stupid and backwards, and cheaply conflated with antifa / communism because muh free speech. Also, site doesn't align with their political leanings so it totally is an irrelevant forum that they can just laugh at.
But then they remember people from the gaming industry are members here, and that's when they get rabidly angry, because it hits them that the irrelevant website in reality has a certain degree of influence that they don't like. I've seen it, and it's pretty funny.

There are groups of morons who dislike the forum for existing. It's funny because they don't have to be here, no one forces them, but just because we aren't some racist corner on the internet they get offended. You can search them up to, and how they are always trying to plot something as if they were capable enough to do anything. Bunch of snowflakes.

The criminal really does return to the scene it seems.
Considering it is standard conservative practice to edit wiki pages of founding fathers to match their narratives of the US being a Christian nation, and all the founding fathers being Christians, this seems rather innocuous.

I feel like people rarely get permed unless it's really egregious or multiple repeat offenses. Just anecdotally of course but all the perms or long term bans I've seen were pretty justified. Still I don't think an internet forum ban is something to get worked up over but that seems to be what causes it. When I got I think a month or maybe a three week ban from GAF for something that was just taken the wrong way as a comment about the moderation I just waited out the ban. It's such a different mindset that goes on the crusade over internet forum bans. I can't understand it.
What's more petty, someone being bent out of shape enough to edit the page or someone being bent out of shape over the fact it happened?
