Sooooo, Streets of Rage 4 and an Onimusha remaster announced over a couple of days...

I am now convinced somebody here has a genie and three wishes.
I will now politely suggest a third wish to be a Sega AM2 collection, should that person be reading this comment.

And I look forward to trying Onimusha for the first time.

What was present Genma Onimusha that wasn't in the original release?

there's a green orb that you or enemies can absorb and that makes anyone who has it stronger
enemies are more difficult
there's a nemesis type enemy, some lame ass doll
one new area and some more cutscenes
one new boss
more armours

there were some good content going on, but not dramatically better

You realize we all have to buy this if we want to see Onimusha 2 and 3 releases, along with a new sequel.

Can you imagine them making a new one using the RE Engine?

I don't know if its been mentioned in the thread but was there ever a reason that there were so many names straight from Shakespeare used in this game? Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Fortinbras, etc.

Damn, Finally. Capcom has been killing it with all it's remasters & ports, while still maintaining a solid AAA output. Hopefully we'll get Onimusha 2 & 3 soon after.

I hope they nerf the requirements for opening those stupid doors, or at least make it clear from the beginning that you have to save up for them.

Why? It's a simple game. I played this in 2001 when I was 18, the only thing that gave me trouble was the water door puzzle. But after a few tries, it became easy.

If you're talking about the doors with the big colored blobs on them, you just need to upgrade the gauntlet to the required level to open them. One blob = level 1. Two blobs = level 2. And so on.

Full discussion of the Genma changes at the link below. You left out a few, including a new charge attack.

I hope it's the Genma Onimusha version. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/capcom-details-the-enhancements-in-genma-onimusha/1100-2820549/

Ugh, voice acting is terrible. The last time I played it on PS2 my English was so lousy I could barely understand it without subtitles lmao, now it's a cringe fest.

For 20€ I could give it another replay.
Oh god, please add Japanese voices. The english dub it's a nightmare hahahahaah!

You're in luck. Western release also includes the newly recorded Japanese voiceover. You can get a taste of it from the Japanese trailer below.

When I woke up today I thought this was gonna be a remake and I got excited. But now that I know it's just a remaster, I might just go ahead and play Genma Onimusha on Xbox instead.

Very cool announcement.

I now want Samanosuke to be the second guest character in SC6. The timing would be right.

Capcom keeps treating Switch owners as third rate citizens. Honestly, Capcom doesn't even deserve to be represented in Super Smash Bros. at this point. Square Enix and Namco Bandai will become the premier partners of Nintendo and rake in all the cash.

I finished this game like 4 times back in the day. I wish Capcom released the whole trilogy instead.
Will still buy this though for trophies.

A bit of disappointed because:
1. It is just a remaster, not a full remake.
2. It is based on PS2 version, not OG Xbox version Genma Onimusha. I always feel Genma Onimusha is better than Onimusha Warlords.
3. It goes my hope that Xbox One X enhanced version BC OG Xbox version Genma Onimusha.
4. And why only digital for Europe????? I hate this.

Anyway, day 1 on Xbox. Perhaps import from US for the physical copy.

More like Resident Evil with Samurai. Tank controls too, but not as stilted, in my opinion.

Okay, that sounds compelling af to me. Getting this for sure.

My only concern is paying $20 for a game which is apparently beatable in a single sitting, especially considering that I recently bought all four Devil May Cry games for $21. Maybe I'll wait for a discount.

Amazing. Hope the sequels come down the line.

Except for Blade Warriors. They can skip that one.

I will accept Tactics, however.
