I have the collector's edition preordered already like I said earlier and I also said it doesn't really apply to me. It doesn't mean I have to like it or agree with it, and you're free to have your opinion!

I couldn't care less if you like it or agree with it, you can have you opinion that's not why I bolded you last sentence. I'm taking issue with you calling it disingenuous, which it isn't.

From what I gather, people want game companies to lie to their fans about how development works.

Also they would rather the DLC come out 9 months later when they have forgotten about the game and moved on to something else rather then when it's fresh in their minds.

I'm not gonna claim cut content cause that's just silly, but I wish these developers would wait until after the game is out before talking about DLC, especially SP titles.

For everyone upset vote with your wallet. Wait for the reviews/ game to be released see how you like it and then wait for the reviews/dlc to be released. It's that simple. You don't have to give anyone money if you don't want too. And if you're excited for cyberpunk like I am I guarantee you they have plans and are actively planning out the dlc for that game right now as their making the base game as well. That's how things work now and have been for a while.

I personally don't care in this particular case but I guess it just looks bad.

I know the Insomniac dev said here on Era that that the game was complete and that these three stories was content that they couldn't finish in time for the release but not everyone knows that or they just don't like it.

Honestly it doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy XV situation where their season pass should've most definitely been in the base game so it doesn't bother me as much.

Far from exciting me more this news destroyed my hype for the game. Now I'm ditching Spiderman (for now) in favor of DQXI on day one. I'm going to reward a game thats coming out complete on launch and wait for a GOTY Spiderman edition or for it to be discounted later on.

Besides DQXI will need the sales way more to stay afloat in the west. Spider-Man will sell gajillions anyway but I had to say it. This news dampened my excitement of getting it on day one immensely.

In short, people are dumb as bricks

I'm looking forward to the black cat one. I'm sure they will do her justice!

I didn't expect it so soon after the game launched. Very exciting, I can't wait to play the DLC! Thank you for creating and supporting this game Insomniac :)

Dont forget complaining during those 9 months as to why there still isn't any DLC for the game.

The DLC is releasing 3 days before red dead what I meant. Red dead is October 26th

It depends how meaty the content is really. If it's really meaty with tons of content then yeah it's stupid to release at that time from but if it's 3 to 5 hours long then does it really matter? Most would be able to clear it in a day or two and might be able to platinum it before the launch of Red Dead.

Whether this content was finished before release or not, it always fascinates me that gaming culture has shifted in such a manner where it's completely acceptable for companies to do this .
On one hand if they really aren't finished with something then they can wrap it up later and add on to the main game eventually. On the other hand the trust that developers/publishers aren't holding content back can be easily abused.

LOL at the cut content talk as usual. Also at people overreacting as if the Digital Deluxe edition wasn't announced with all its details (i.e. that it comes with The City That Never Sleeps and some PSN goodies) as soon as pre-order details were given.

I highly doubt the contents of these chapters are integral to the story. More likely they're supplementary stories set after the events of the game. Bonus content, essentially, which shouldn't require an explanation as to why they're not cut content.

I also personally don't mind having DLC content of this sort announced before release since I usually expect DLC and want additional content post-release. If it's something that was clearly supposed to be part of the base game, which is rarely the case in the games I play, then I'd take issue. This doesn't look like it'll be one of those.

As an aside, I just realized that the price of the Digital Deluxe edition on the Hong Kong store is the same price as the base game on the North American store, i.e. 60 USD. I sure lucked out by buying there instead of doing my usual NA store purchases...

People are still going with this "cut content" nonsense in this day and age? Where the fuck have some of you been the last 5 years?
So how about you prove it to us that it is not cut content? It is literally obvious they have been planning this since beginning and delayed the development to double dip on us

Well, someone from Insomniac claimed that it is not cut content in this thread. I guess it depends on you whether to believe Insomniac or not at this moment.

All that really needs to be said, I'm out - don't have the patience for gaming communities anymore.

Hah, people are so overdramatic when it's about a game they like.

See you later, dude.

Maybe.. just maybe. I could tolerate this more if they announced the dlc 2 weeks after the release date or at least after the release date. They way they announce it like this is pretty condescending to their consumers

I am personally glad I know these dates for the DLC so I know to buy it afterwards so I can play the base game and DLC all in one go.

As long as the dlc is better than what Far Cry 5 delivered then cool. We knew months ago about this dlc so guess it's nice to know the date of the 1st one. Interested to see the new additions to the world as time goes by.

Hopefully they support this game for a while and don't just immediately start working on a sequel.

Great that it's close to release date; the first DLC will probably be a good indicator of what to expect from the others.

So you either announce it too soon around release and people claim it is cut content that should have been in the game.

Or you don't announce it soon enough after release and people just assume the DLC is never coming.

User Warned: Lazy dev rhetoric.
Jeez, this does make me laugh. All of that is obvious to you? Yikes.

Prove that it is cut content then.
Challenge accepted

This has been planned since months ago. They are just being "lazy" to work on it so they have to reason to charge us some additional cost. The release date is also "too close" to the release date. If this is not cut content instead of delayed content, they can just give them to us for free... i mean this is not "cut content", right? Right? I mean this is not even an expansion, just small quests. Why need to charge us some money? Riiight?

Your turn!
