Man, I grew up on this as my Spider-Man until the Sam Rami movies. This is gonna be a nostalgic trip for sure.

If twitter is that bad and is run by someone who you find genuinely morally and politically disgusting then anyone with self respect would stop using it or get a job where you don't need it. It is not like anyone is owed a good version of twitter and its pretty clear the guy who runs it is happy with it as it is.
While I get the sentiment to some degree, the idea that someone should change their profession because the times dictate you need to engage on social media is incredibly insulting. That's not a decision made lightly.
Maybe, just maybe, they have a passion for their job but don't like one aspect of it? That describes most people I guess..
a lot of these social networks have really become basically the digital commons of the internet in many ways with users kind of treating it as essentially a public space even though of course they're clearly not, at least legally
I know I'm being flippant but it seems pointless to whine about a hell hole that is happy being the way it is, there's no reason for it to cater to your needs.Find an alternate or create your own. I say this as someone who has been told I need to use twitter etc for my career but I just learn to manage without it. I think most people don't care though and use it without thinking so this isn't really a massive issue
this is probably less the case lately, but some of the GB crew themselves have mentioned getting gigs with companies that told them having a Twitter presence is a necessity. games coverage isn't exactly a field so in demand that when you can see a demand like that you can go find a different job easily.
in general though FB/Youtube/Twitter are absolutely necessary for anyone who's trying to do anything creative independently. saying "just don't use it if you don't like it" isn't really practical when those outlets also serve as the most direct and low-cost forms of promotion for people without a marketing budget
People always have and always will excuse themselves from aspects of society they find distasteful
by this logic, what's the point about complaining about anything? ever? are you human? do you understand why people complain about things?
twitter is the only platform of its kind. people that use it for its intended purpose have no other option. telling them to 'create their own' is such a ludicrous mindset because literally 99% of people don't have the ability to do that. however as users of the dang product they absolutely do have power to push for change in the product. by either growing dissent or creating enough demand for an alternative from someone who could create it.
