That's a really cool model/colour. Would buy if I didn't already have a 2DS XL.

Would prefer NSMB2 as a bundle game, as the 2DS was with the coin rush challenges.

How is the VC of SMW is it the correct amount of pixles? Bought SMB3 for GBA (BC on my DS Lite) and I could never get over that it feels like the screen is not showing everything that the original hardware did show.

If you still find a 2DS with that NSMB2 + DLC bundle, you can make or attach an account and then transfer it to another system. But Mario Kart 7 is their most consistent seller (other than Pokemon) so it looks like they wanted to double down on it.

Also SNES games are perfect on New 2DS XL. They're not re-fitted like the GBA games were, they're a perfect match for the screen. Looks amazing.

The Luigi's Mansion sequel has been out years, but that'd probably just lead to confusion with the new one coming.

I thought you literally meant the upcoming release. And see, it already led to confusion!

Anybody in here ever moved from a N3DS XL to a N2DS XL?

I've been thinking of doing it, but would love to hear any experiences in terms of comfort and quality.

It actually looks really good. Should have done a straight up GameCube style model tho.

I have a new 3DS (smaller model), can anyone recommend the 2ds xl in terms of comfortability? The shoulder buttons and corners look more comfy but idk, maybe that's not true?

I can I love the new 2DS XL and even tried out the New 3DS XL for a day, hated how heavy and less ergonomic it was and returned it. This model of 2DS is about as perfect a portable as you can get considering Vita is dead.

The New 2DS XL is much more comfortable and lighter than the N3DSXL. And you don't have to take whip out your screwdriver to change the memory card for whatever reason.

The one thing N3DSXL does better is the speaker position. If you don't use headphones, having speakers in the bottom part of the New 2DS XL is not the best possible solution for audio quality but it's not terrible either.

It's so pretty! :O

I love my Galaxy 3DS xl but since I never/can't use the 3D effect due to it hurting my eyes/headaches I would get this in a heartbeat if I didn't already have my 3DS. Love the build design of the 2DS xl far more then the 3DS xl.

Well I am tempted, let see if we in Europe gets a bundle and if I think it is worth it. I mean for the price of a Switch I could buy a New 2DS XL and at least 7 nintendo select games....

Oh sure... NOW they give me purple! God dammit.

Why can't you just launch with purple like back in the day, Nintendo!? What I would give for a purple switch...

Oh, I quite like that. The thumbpad broke on my Pink 3DS XL last night while playing Samus Returns, should be an easy fix, but I might consider replacing the unit as it's rather old and the power connector is a bit wonky too.

Yes it is quite a lot of gaiming for the money, however unsure if I want 7 games from the Nintendo Select line. Mostly into 2D platformers.

How is the D-pad position compared to DS lite? Does it feel as natural?

I don't know all the Nintendo Selects titles you have available, but the main attraction in Super Mario Maker is the challenge mode which is basically a full game's worth of Mario platforming greatness with some offbeat twists. Add some Virtual Console games and you have a lot of 2D to play.

For the D-pad position I have to give the edge to the DS line and OG 2DS. You just can't beat a D-pad in top position like on DS or as close to the top screen as on OG 2DS. But the feel of the D-pad is great, feels snappier than the DS Lite D-pad imo.

This is so beautiful. I've been meaning to get a 2DS XL as my "forever 3DS" and this is absolutely perfect for me. My favorite shade of purple.

I don't own a 2DSXL but the D-Pad on 3DS/XL/N3DS/XL is a clicky one and isn't as flexible as the one on DS Lite. Its placement isn't as good as on DS Lite either.

What games do you intend to play on 3DS ? I think I pretty much always went with the circle pad till now.

Main attraction for me is 2D mario so super mario maker, nsmb2 and Super Mario World. After that Top down Zelda.

On the maybe list: captain toad, Luigi's mansion, MK7.

After that any good 2D platformer that you can recommend.

Unsure if 3D land is a game for me, I didn't enjoy most of 3D marios I have tested as much as I enjoy a 2D mario. Grow up on the NES marios and really never left.

I can at least confirm that MK7, 3D Land and Luigi's Mansion 2 are all great games. Especially in 3D ! :P

The Kirby games are supposedly great too (I only tried the first one and yup, I'll get it later this year).

Zelda ALBW is a must buy btw !

Well the 3D will not be possible, at least not with a New 2ds xl. The new 3ds xl is quite expensive here so not really interested and I really don't want to buy a used handheld. Every used system I see tend to have scratches all over...
