Thank God no more Yakuza. Like the series, but the series is on major burnout for me right now. They got members that worked on Panzer Dragoon, Jet Set Radio, Monkey Ball, etc. Would love to see what else they can do outside of Yakuza and Fist of the Yakuza.
You mean no more Yakuza except remasters for 4, 5 alongside Shin RGG (new console game) and RGG Online (for mobile and PC) right? The series isn't going anywhere yet. Also saw some rumours about maybe another spin off as well...

I didn't know exactly who this guy was but he looked familiar, so I looked it up. He's the Yakuza guy! That's pretty awesome, thanks for the helpful info OP! It's the Yakuza guy for everyone that also doesn't know who he is.

I didn't know who he was. That's not my fault. That's his fans' and his fault for not getting his name out there. Guess he's the guy that does Yakuza so I can check out of here as I'm assuredly not interested. You could have saved me the click by putting what he's famous for in the title!

I wasn't really serious, if that didn't came across.

the way the thread title says "Sony TGS" is misleading, lol, my instant reaction was "why would you assume this is a sony exclusive?".

The reason for that is that the interview/show in question - had the co-host lead in by citing historically Nagoshi being at either their own presentation or Sony's pre-TGS showcases to reveal something, and while Nagoshi confirmed nothing, it was a lead-in so I put it with a (?) involved.

But you raised a fair point, so I'll omit out the speculative component.

It's Yakuza but you play as Captain Falcon on an alien planet doing bounty hunts in-between races

races developed by the Sega devs behind F-Zero GX

imagine

I picture basically FOTNS's template with some slight tweaks for better racing. I would be very down for this. Seems like it'd slot into the RGG template perfectly.

A new Rent-A-Hero game running on the Dragon Engine?
472259-rent-a-hero-genesis-front-cover.jpg

The last Rent-A-Hero game, No. 1, reused the combat engine from Spikeout. Which was a major inspiration for Yakuza's combat system. So it could work quite well.

They're also still actively supporting the IP, with that stage show and planned film adaption.

Nagoshi was responsible for or contributed to many more games than just Yakuza.

Lol I meant if he says "something truly different" I would assume that means something NOT like Yakuza. I know he's going to make more Yakuza games, but if he does like 1 or 2 games that are nothing like that series, I'm down.

Yeah, here's hoping that's the case. I love the series, but I definitely wouldn't be against something completely different (as its not as if I'll be short anything Yakuza related for a while).

Another anime collaboration seems likely, and if it's gonna be something "truly different" to FotNS, then... I'm gonna guess it's a Sailor Moon game. Optional skin for Sailor Moon to look like Haruka in that magical girl lookin' stage outfit from Yakuza 5 as a pre-order bonus.

Lets do it.

Anyone remember the 90's version "You're Under Arrest!" (the anime.)?

Can we have a game in the style of Yakuza, but with a story and characters like that? Female protagonist and all.

I will go with a Yakuza set in the USA.

With Kiryu as the lead character and featuring the cop from Yakuza 2.

I want to see "Yakuza x Shenmue" - a prequel to both series.

-Ryu Hazuki born November 29 1968

-Kazuma Kiryu born June 17 1968

Have it take place in Okinawa circa 1983-85 during their respective high school trips where they cross paths and run afoul the local gangsters etc. Visit the Sunflower orphanage, Yokosuka, train under Ryo's father. It would be awesome.

Wasn't it announced in the Nintendo Switch January 2017 presentation that he was working on something for Switch? I wonder if this could be it.

I am ready for the Super Monkey Ball x Yakuza crossover.
I know what you're thinking. Will it feature AiAi beating up thugs? Or Majima rolling around in a plastic ball? The answer is yes.
