Tomorrow's Gran Turismo Sport 1.25 update includes new cars, tracks, GT League events and more

Tomorrow, the latest free content drop for GT Sport goes live for all players, and today we're thrilled to detail exactly what you can expect. As well as a selection of iconic vehicles being added to Brand Central, drivers will be able to test their skills on our latest track addition – the blistering Red Bull Ring. You'll find all the details below, and as always, stay tuned to PlayStation Blog for the latest GT news and updates.

New vehicles
Rolling into Brand Central are eight stunning new vehicles, including legends of motor racing history like the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé and Ford Mark IV Race Car.
  • Ford Mark IV Race Car '67
  • Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé '64
  • Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
  • Abarth 500 '09
  • Abarth 1500 Biposto Bertone B.A.T 1 '52
  • Volkswagen 1200 '66
  • Mini-Cooper 'S' '65
  • Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Evoluzione '91

New track – Red Bull Ring
Located in the stunning landscape of Styria, Austria, the Red Bull Ring is an intense high-speed circuit combining tight corners and long flat-out straights. While the course layout appears simple, its hilly topography makes it far more challenging than it initially seems. The full track as well as a short version has been included, and both are playable in reverse.

GT League
New to the ever-expanding collection of GT League Events, we've introduced three additional challenges for drivers of all experience levels, including:
  • Beetle & Samba Bus Festa – Beginner League
  • Group 3 Cup – Amateur League
  • Nostalgic 1979 – Professional League
Additional updates
In Sport Mode, players can now view an "Archive" of previous championship rankings, as well as measure and test their network quality. Players can also now explore the Zagato Museum, and in Scapes Mode, a special section on Cuba has been added. Finally, last month's scenic Saint-Croix circuit has been added to the Circuit Experience.

Can't believe we're getting such a big update out of the blue. A real track too with the Red Bull Ring.

It's like PD are trolling the community. Last month we had weeks of teasers, this time Kaz didn't even tweet anything out. But so what, so long as we get these great updates.

This is great. Hope PD keep this up as this game is getting better and better. It easily has the best online racing in Sport mode but the extra content is going to make this an even better product.
Looks like the naysayers and haterz are getting shut up every month. A complete edition should be released in 8-9 months time.

I love the RBR circuit; it's one of those tracks that packs a lot into a deceptively short layout. Glad to see the Mk IV back, too.

Interesting that the track can apparently be driven in reverse as well. I don't recall this being an option for a real track before.

Nice but please get rid of that weekly sport rotation, it's boring for someone who plays a couple races every week at most.

Agreed, it was a change no one asked for. However,

Cool and unexpected track. I would love some more GT3 cars, those seem to provide the best racing IMO. I'm really expecting rain and Spa to come soon.

hmm where can I get that trailer music lol, pretty hype.
Wish we could rotate out the old music tracks and add those they've used in the DLC trailers. They must have the rights.

As for the Red Bull Ring I missed it in GT6 but enjoyed it in some PC sims. I guess this means Spa, Silverstone and some other tracks built for GT6 are closer than ever.

Fuck you Polyphony, making me nut all over my phone with that Abarth 500 announcement... That was all I really wanted.

How is the game's single player? Got me a new PS4 after the last one's fan died. Playing Forza 7 on Xbox One but while I like the driving in that game, single player doesn't have the sense of progression of the GT games. I heard lots of complains about the single player of GT Sport and haven't had a chance to try since my last PS4 died. So is it better now? How is the single player experience?

Isn't that Lancia the one that got a ton of flack in the GT5 days? It was a straight port from the PS2 GT to GT5 and I think it became a meme.

Edit:
My mistake... It was some Suzuki:

Wow what a surprise. They never teased this update.

Nice collection of classic cars in this. Plus a new track. Solid update.

I'm so happy about this. The one car I always look out for in Forza/GT games. Can't wait!

Incredibly dull and boring imo. I bought GT Sport a month ago for 20€ and regret my purchase. This game is for racing game fans not for car enthusiasts. The car selection is very poor and the overall presentation mind boggling backwards. You can`t even freely rotate your camera wtf? Last Forza game I have played is Forza 4 and I think that game is miles ahead of GT Sport in terms of fun. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, since I think that Drive Club is one of the best racing game ever made.

You can get 20-30 hours to gol all the tracks, do the missions and challenges (whatever they are called). There is no 'car progression' (tuning, buying parts) as in other GTs. There are single-player leagues available (LOTS OF THEM), but I really dont think they are interesting as the AI is terrible (by terrible I mean: they are slow as fuck). Getting gold in all challenges was fun for me, after that I jumped into Sport mode (online races) that are really great, unlike other racing games, once you get a good Sportsmanship Rating (you can get it in 5-6 races) you will race with people that drive ~~politely~~. If you are one of those that needs to push everybody in the first turn you will get lots of penalties and will not like the game (and will infuriate other drivers). One thing I love in the game is the Scapes mode, where it is basically a photo mode but amazingly done, Ive spent almost 10 hours on that alone and I have to say I never used any photo mode in any other game. Almost forgot, but I think it has one of the best soundtracks ever. Car selection was kinda poor at launch but now there are a lot of great cars (I dont even have half of what I want, played over 100 hours total).

This game just keeps on giving.

My only problem is that I can't find the perfect configuration for HDR on my x900e. Sometimes looks really good but in day time tracks sometimes shadows on trees look washed out and I swap to SDR because they look better on it.
