After having several friends tell me how great the show is, I finally started watch Opening New Doors and I'm completely obsessed with it. I'm nearly done with series three, and will move on to Boys & Girls in the City next. Also Taka is really cute and deserves a girlfriend.
I know! He's super attractive to me... Wish things would work out romatically for him. He was too obsessed with Ami.
I humbly volunteer myself to join Terrace House and become Taka's love interest.

I don't know how this is gonna end (haven't seen up to the latest episode yet), but in Season 4 one girl right now seems interested in him. We'll see, but yeah, he's an alright dude. Kinda clueless and awkward, especially for his age (reminds me a bit of me! lol), but good guy so far.

As expected, Seina didn't accept Shohei's confession. While I kind of liked him until the kiss, I'm glad to see him go. I'm not that big of a fan of seeing the same few people just try their luck with new members over and over again, which would probably happen if he stayed.
I hope that Taka leaves soon as well, since he's overstaying his welcome a bit as well. I know many people like him, and I don't hate him or anything, but I want some fresh blood.
As for Yui - her complaints regarding Noah not going to work, despite Taka being the only reason he got in there at all, were on point. That said, I don't know if it was the way she said it or just me, but during that whole conversation I was really annoyed by her attitude. If I was Noah, wrong or not, I'd be pretty frustrated at that point. Also, Noah just casually inviting Yui to go eat with him THE DAY AFTER he told her she's not interested, was hilarious. I don't think he meant anything by it, they're still housemates after all. That said, pretty terrible timing.
Aya continues to be the mvp, and honestly the only person now that I have no problems with.

Mother and Her Past. I thought he was crossing the line at first by bringing it up on her birthday, but it turned into a revelation about Tsuchan and how she should push herself and explore her options. Also, all the stuff with Yudai lol

Confession time: initially, I too thought that when she said "if only you were 5 years younger", that was a way to leave the door open... Guess I'm as clueless as Taka :(. Oh well, at least I'm not like Yuudai lol.
It definitely came off like that, especially in Japan where there's no taboo on age difference like that I can see why he thought he still had a chance.
Easy to forget too that the editing tried hard to make Ami look emotionally disconnected from the housemates.
Shouhei kinda creeps me out, if I'm honest, even beyond the kissing business. He doesn't seem like a bad guy overall, but, I don't know, I'm not feeling him. And that church date with the flowers is way over the top. You're not marrying her dude, calm down.

I think his face looked odd after he shaved. But I also simultaneously don't like his style of facial hair.

I'll fight anyone that calls them boring. I really liked both of them and seeing their romance blossom was so sweet. The world needs Shion and Tsubasa right now!

Started watching Opening New Doors last night, completely hooked. Up to the ep just after Yuudai and Mizuki depart.
So far;
Yuudai - Just a shame all around. I wish he actually listened to the others, his mentality was pretty... alarming? They all sit him down for a one on one and he just determines they have different values and runs away? It would have been nice to see him change on the show but it also felt like he was saying all that stuff about becoming independent/a chef more so to convince himself. It was even more telling that his mum had seemingly given up on him for the time being and even his friends seeming not so taken back.
Ami - She's just... ????. She seems to keep her actions pretty tame but I hope someone calls her out for it. Doesn't seem to know what she wants out of anyone or anything.
Mizuki - Didn't really see enough of her with all the Ami/Yuudai stuff going on but a shame she was caught up with that guy. Loved that she blew up at Yuudai, also loved how many beers she knocked back lol.
Taka - Cool guy, you just kind of want the best for him. The whole line with Ami is a bit.. strange? I definitely see a lot of myself in him.
Shion - I'm still a bit... wary of Shion? The whole line with Tsubasa feels too well controlled, it is cute as it goes off though. I hope Tsubasa doesn't come off the worse because of it.

Man, I so bummed out Shouhei is leaving. I wanted more bromance moments with Taka. These two are easily among my favorite TH dudes. Ready to cry next week when it's time to say goodbye :(

Yuudai was basically a rich(?) daddy's boy who had no intention of doing anything to change himself.
I don't think Mizuki was really that memorable, other than that she had some weird friends with benefits thing going on with a Korean dude.

Reached Part 3 of Aloha State. Seeing Arman and Martha again has been great! Taishi and Guy are pretty awesome. Not as awesome as Hansan and Arman, but still enjoyable. I always have a happy face when Guy is on just because he's so dang likeable and innocent. Looking forward to seeing him in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games!
scarf and gloves are a safe gift imo. Just need to pick up a colour and texture that fits with the rest of that persons ward robe. Whereas I don't know about the vans that Taka gave lol.

Yeah. I previously said I didn't really like Shouhei, but that last scene was like... "Jesus Noah wtf". Shouhei is down and Noah keeps punching. I kept expecting him to say "I'm sorry" to Shouhei, yet he was like "ok lol". Shouhei even thanks him (though that felt more like a fuck you), and he still has nothing to reply. Damn.
Gotta say though, the whole "kissing while drunk" shenanigans aren't nearly as gripping as Rikopin-gate haha. Hayato had such an evil stare in that scene. It's glorious. I think the whole Noah x Seina stuff will blow up though. I'm already envisioning some kind of revenge plot with Yui and Shouhei dunking on Noah and possibly Seina hard. Oh God, I'm becoming like the panelists lol.

So, going back to Yuudai and Ami for a bit, it still baffles me that literally nobody on the show (not the other members, not the panelists, not even Ami herself) explicitly called out Yuudai for taking her to the outdoor sports thing instead of, you know, what she actually spelled out to him: the amusement park. The panelists kinda go "eh?", as does Ami (inexplicably), but nobody tells him "dude, she told you "the amusement park", why are you taking her somewhere else?" This is one case where someone was telling you what to do to please them, without any "read the air" BS, and you still fucked up. I find it so infuriating for some reason lol.

I'd say on average the worldwide release tends to happen around 2 or so months after that Part has ended in Japan Part 3 ended on July 3rd worldwide release was August 31st.
Part 4 ended on the 28th so perhaps end of October?
Just got the part in B&GITC where
Riko and Hayato are confronted about their relationship. It was pretty bizarre tbh. I was with them on the deception stuff but the amount of times that they were calling out Riko for sleeping with Hayato was gross. Was that really worth potentially tanking Riko's career? Does Riko really deserve that? From what we've seen on the show her and Misaki are close friends. It seemed that they at times went away from seemingly caring about them to just wanting to humiliate them. It felt weird.
Honestly it's kind of whatever, cause you don't get enough time to know the new members (and a couple of them seemed fun), see new dynamics.
I still enjoyed it for what it was, but at the same time I was thinking "Why bother" lol
Honestly the release delay is just too much. I'll lose all kind of sense of continuity by the time the episodes drop, and then to get 4 episodes that's nothing in the grand scheme of things. Wish they would step it up and release weekly, even if with 2 weeks delay from Japan for translation.
Technically they could for English speaking countries because the episodes already have English subtitles the second they hit Netflix in Japan.
They also change the songs used in the background since it's all licensed songs in Japan and not stock music (might be stuff made especially for the show and not stock, I don't know)
