THANKS. Now this just reminded me how much Ninja Gaiden were never going to get again. :( Dammit.

Fuck Ninja Gaiden is cool as shit.

Flying Swallow is better but I hate how OP that move is.

So Izuna Drop.

But also reflecting shit back in Devil May Cry games is always awesome:

Oh higher difficulties they have enemies that can grab you mid air out of a flying swallow. Relying on that move too much is the way to just get your self bopped.

I think the Stinger is more satisfying.

Especially stinger while in devil trigger (DMC4)... the way it conveys the sense of power and makes the enemies fly across the screen is awesome...

While we're at it I think the Royal Release against knight enemies where they try to hit you with their shields and instead gets their own shield blown up during the counter while Dante slices clean through them (causing damage to nearby enemies) is so satisfying...

Man Capcom's animation and frame pacing is on point... The little hitstop / frame freeze nero does when deflecting the fireball sells this image...

The problem with flying swallow, is that it's just as OP defensively as offensively.

It's basically a super OP airdash that sets up a perfect roll jump and on-landing UT if there is a tiny bit of essence nearby. Better yet, in some areas you can flying swallow some scenery in the middle of a fight, on-landing a level 2 UT and get free i-frames in the middle of a difficult fight.

You are right in that on higher difficulties this isn't as easy and may even be a necessary tactic, especially if you are playing for karma score. Doesn't change the fact that it sometimes feels cheap.

I loved the Izuna drop so much that I copied it.

Sadly, the very first time I played through Ninja Gaiden I somehow didn't realize the move existed. Would have made many of the encounters much easier.

Parts Unknown.
The GTA sucker punch is the best for me. I can spend hours doing this.

That wind up and follow through.

I mean like abusing the shit out of i-frames is literally the only way anyone will ever beat NG2 Vanilla on Master. Lol just constant explosive shurikens so take what advantages you can get. :p

It's a really close showdown between a fully upgraded Stinger and Izuna Drop. I like them both, but I use Stinger way more often.

Sometimes when I'm sitting at a loading screen with my controller in hand on fortnite or any modern game I'll input x, y, x, x, x, y because I loved doing that move so much.

So yes, yes it is.

Dragon's Dogma, Arc of Deliverance

It takes a long time to come, and the satisfaction is only in an instance, but in that moment nothing else matters.

I always love when you hit an enemy with a full-powered Stinger and it just fucking explodes.

It's really cool that in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Dante's Stinger has a built-in 15% chance to instant kill an enemy - it's like they translated that bit of gameplay from the DMC games into his RPG moveset.

Playing NGB for the first time at the moment and I'm just abusing the fuck out of the Izuna Drop because I'm so shit at everything else.

It's Kazuma Kiryu's Tiger Drop, because it's a counter move and you can tiger drop everything.

Most of the time playing that first 3d Ninja Gaiden, I did that flying swallow move nonstop...

Having just seen the move for the first time, I'm gonna have to say yes. I can feel it just from watching the gif, lol.

I would absolutely agree with Izuna Drop being the most satisfying move.... Until God of War came out. That damn Axe feels so good as does the leaping slam with it. Tough call, you can't go wrong here.

It's all about the XYXXXY, baby.

I say what elevates the Izuna Drop from all other moves mentioned in this thread is the chain of button presses you make. You have to have rhythm, and flow with it.

Honestly Tonfa, not only is it the best weapon, but has the most satisfying impact and combos. Its Ultimate Technique will always be the best and most OP.

I adore the Tonfa in NG2, it's the only weapon that has a built-in cancel-dash/weave move to chain multiple hits, yes? Plus, even its lv.1 UT is so damn powerful.

Yep. The cancel move was definitely my favourite move as it could connect to a kick to mid air and a grab to slam on the ground. The best. Cancel + Y was insanely OP as well

Parry. Any parry in any action game

I love parrying
This is what I wanted to say.

The parries in Bayonetta, Revengeance, DMC3 -- all amazing. There is something awesome about the sound the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa makes, it's so satisfying.

But yeah, Izuna Drop is amazing to pull off and the crash zoom when you smash enemies into the ground is SO good.

NG1 Huricane Pack...2(?) had a parry function. They ended up cutting it for black though as it totally broke the game lol >.<

I used to boot up NG1 from time to time to mess around with it. A shame MS killed XBL access on the OG xbox though as you can't access HP1 unless you connect =\

Not even the most satisfying move in that game. That would be guillotine throw.

As for in all games.

ZERO SHIFT

This gen the back throw in State of Decay 2 is definitely up there!

It's the most satisfying combo filler, yes. Overall moves, counters/parry/timing based moves are always more satisfying to pull off.

Loved all the wrestling moves in No More Heroes, especially the fatal versions you could use on regular enemies

Hell no, Kyriu's cigarette heat move, Essence of Smoking, is number one for me.

There isn't a single fight in which I don't pull that off.

It's so damn satisfying and badass.
