Flying Swallow is better but I hate how OP that move is.
So Izuna Drop.
But also reflecting shit back in Devil May Cry games is always awesome:

THANKS. Now this just reminded me how much Ninja Gaiden were never going to get again. :( Dammit.
Fuck Ninja Gaiden is cool as shit.
Oh higher difficulties they have enemies that can grab you mid air out of a flying swallow. Relying on that move too much is the way to just get your self bopped.
The problem with flying swallow, is that it's just as OP defensively as offensively.
It's basically a super OP airdash that sets up a perfect roll jump and on-landing UT if there is a tiny bit of essence nearby. Better yet, in some areas you can flying swallow some scenery in the middle of a fight, on-landing a level 2 UT and get free i-frames in the middle of a difficult fight.
You are right in that on higher difficulties this isn't as easy and may even be a necessary tactic, especially if you are playing for karma score. Doesn't change the fact that it sometimes feels cheap.
Especially stinger while in devil trigger (DMC4)... the way it conveys the sense of power and makes the enemies fly across the screen is awesome...
While we're at it I think the Royal Release against knight enemies where they try to hit you with their shields and instead gets their own shield blown up during the counter while Dante slices clean through them (causing damage to nearby enemies) is so satisfying...
The Izuna Drop is incredible, but the build up and release of the SAED is unmatched.
Yep. No action game so far has been even close to it. Sekiro might scratch the surface.Pretty much everything you can do in the Ninja Gaiden series is the most satisfying move in action games
Honestly Tonfa, not only is it the best weapon, but has the most satisfying impact and combos. Its Ultimate Technique will always be the best and most OP.It's all about the XYXXXY, baby.
I say what elevates the Izuna Drop from all other moves mentioned in this thread is the chain of button presses you make. You have to have rhythm, and flow with it.

Yep. The cancel move was definitely my favourite move as it could connect to a kick to mid air and a grab to slam on the ground. The best. Cancel + Y was insanely OP as wellI adore the Tonfa in NG2, it's the only weapon that has a built-in cancel-dash/weave move to chain multiple hits, yes? Plus, even its lv.1 UT is so damn powerful.
This is what I wanted to say.

The parries in Bayonetta, Revengeance, DMC3 -- all amazing. There is something awesome about the sound the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa makes, it's so satisfying.
But yeah, Izuna Drop is amazing to pull off and the crash zoom when you smash enemies into the ground is SO good.
Edit: ISSEN Counters from Onimusha series, free.
Also, Zan-datsu from Revengeance.
Guess we just completely forgot Devil May Cry 3 and anything involving Royal Guard huh?
