Is First Person Only in CP2077 affected your decision to buy it ?

After I read through the whole internet about CP2077 gameplay trailer, the most common complain about the game (and dealbreaker) is the game being only first person perspective. followed by graphic looks bad (even i don't think it is bad ?? I love how people ignore the watermark). I feel the internet react really weird about this game because most game being 1st person never be a problem to begin with, even the best selling game in the world this day is 1st person.

So I want to know at least in ERA, what do you think about this game being first person only for people who prefer 3rd person game ? Is it dealbreaker because you can't take it or you are planning to adapt and try as you play ? Answer it in poll option :) just base on solely from what state of the game you see now.

If you curious, my opinion is. I think CDPR make the right move with 1st person perspective. it has way too many thing that shown in video that simply can't achieve with 3rd person camera. I am hype up even more than before. Play this game will be the best thing ever happened in my gaming career.

PS. I can't add option "Yes - and I prefer FPS gameplay style" because the poll can only contain 5 options max :( I figured it can be combine with 1st option at very least (because it is subset). so i do my best represent everyone opinion but there is the limitation. sadly. I even ask the mod to help fix it if it is possible but sadly it can't be.

No. But it would be cool to have a third person walking or running camera. Have combat go into first person.

I wasn't sold at first but it's the devs vision and this demo swayed me to agree with them more. I trust CD projekt on this

Some of my favorite games are exclusively first person.

The game being first person is a pro, not a con.

I get that people care about this for a number of reasons (motion sickness, gameplay preference, aesthetic preference, etc) but I was always 100% on board with the viewpoint.

I generally prefer third-, but it seems like they're doing some really cool stuff playing around with the perspective here so I'm perfectly happy to play in first-person.

after seeing the customization screen, it made it worse. It is painful to see all of those options and then go first person to where you cant see shit while exploring the world. to make matters worse, you can go 3rd person in vehicle apparently, but not on foot while roaming? FFS. THIS. HURTS.

It dropped my hype levels but this alone didnt completely kill the game for me. Right now, the game is a no-buy for a number of reasons, not just the perspective. Will wait and see what else they have to show at later dates.

When I first heard it was first person, I thought the shooting would be on the level of Fallout 4 which is fine but not super engaging. After seeing the gameplay, it looks as fun as fucking Titanfall. I am absolutely down with what they're doing with the perspective. They're doing stuff that you cant do seemlessly in 3rd person.

Im also glad its not like Deus Ex. I can't stand the 1st/3rd person hybrid style.

I would say I prefer third person but I am willing to give this game a shot as its by CD Projekt Red.

I do think the game has other things that Im not in love with mainly the damage counter. Otherwise, the game definitely looks interesting.

Yes. It made me a lot more interested in the game, actually. Not a big fan of third-person gunplay.

I generally prefer third person, but I loved Dying Light and, if I can handle that first person parkour, Cyberpunk 2077 should be no issue. I'm not sure it's a day one purchase though.

They'd have to redo a LOT to have a full-time TPS option. World scaling, animations, etc....

I don't think we're gonna get more than what the gameplay demo showed - which are fairly frequent 'camera pans out' shots during narrative moments.

Otherwise....with regards to the question, the first person works a lot better with the 'borderlands-esque' FPS-RPG feel. I have some mild concerns, but not enough to put me off from getting it.

I was buying it regardless, but the demo definitely proved why they went that direction. It wouldn't look half as good (to me) in third person.

Seeing their approach to first person animation and conversation made me a lot more excited for the game. It's highly engaging and intimate in a way I haven't seen before.

No matter the perspective, it's an RPG first and foremost. That's the most important thing for me.

Deus Ex is one of my favorite RPG franchises and it's first person too.

It being fp turned me off to the game. I prefer third person.

Watched some of the gameplay and nothing really changed.

And seeing Cyberpunk in action, it's clear that third person wouldn't work well.

I've always preferred fp mode for these kinds of games. In the Elder Scrolls games I exclusively play in fp. Just does a great job of immersing me in the world.

Not buying a game because of a perspective is such a bizarre stance that I can't fathom it personally. It's like purposely shutting yourself out of a third of the entire industry.

It has not affected my purchase of the game, but it affects how I feel about it now. If we were getting third person gameplay, I'd be at maximum hype for this. I'd be getting heart palpitations. Now I'm just like, eh, looks cool. It went from the only game that had a chance at dethroning my GOAT to merely a cool looking game that I'll play.

I highly doubt that this will happen. The best thing we can hope for is a mod. Even then I have doubts.

When it was revealed to be first person, I thought they'd lost me.

Then I saw the gameplay and I'm convinced. Would still prefer third person, but the action looked great and you still get to see your character fairly often.

REALLY don't like first person games. Dishonored was a much, much worse game for that decision and completing it was a chore, not fun.

This is a solid "maybe".
