Calling someone a pussy is always sexist. Pussy refers to a woman's body part. A man is supposed to be strong. A man being a pussy is a man not being strong. So with that, women aren't strong.
edit: and you don't really see women get called pussies.
I wouldn't say keep it out of the game, though. There's going to be shit people in this game, doing and saying shit things.
Never visit the UK or Australia then lol
Pretty clear this thread was made in bad faith by an OP who doesn't want his precious hype thread sullied by any meaningful conversations. And I say this as a huge CDPR fan.
The setting, like The Witcher, is a harsh place where people treat each other poorly, and that includes language. I think if you're aware and ready when entering the game, you'll handle it fine.
Yup, and it's sad that this had to be said. The setting, like The Witcher, is a harsh place where people treat each other poorly, and that includes language. I think if you're aware and ready when entering the game, you'll handle it fine.
LMAOOO
RIP to the OP with that poll.
The OP thought that word generally meant "scaredy cat". It's also a dumb topic from the previous thread.
Don't be a dick about it.
See? Male body part. Also negative connotation.
I have no idea what they were discussing. It was an utter mess. What is it that people in the other thread were discussing even? That the words are negative or that they should not appear in the game? At least give some context.

Americans say it too.
the deadpool power fantasy can only go so far. you're saying that those two words don't come into play when discussing that demo, when they were........ literally said in the demo.

The poll makes it an either this or that thing. In reality it can also mean both.It does. It means both things. The word is meant to emasculate someone and allege they aren't tough and fearless, like a man should be, but rather timid and afraid , like a woman. Not sure what the poll has to do with the discussion of whether or not it should be included in the game. It can both be a slur with misogynist origins, and context appropriate depending on how CDPR execute their story telling.
It's not out of bad faith. It's to focus on a major societal issue. Creating a separate thread allows for further discussion on a more focused aspect of the demo.
Are people seriously up in arms over the language - of all things - featured in this game, a game set in "a dark version of the future," one very clearly depicted in previous marketing as being populated with all sorts of violent scum and having the overall quality of grim dystopia?
Good Lord.
