Wow. This official? I can't believe that we got impressions from behind closed door demo, few hours ago and all of us thought it will be kept secret for long time yet we have a long demo now.
PC version no doubt right?

I am asking this because the control layout in the vidoe has Xbox buttons but this game is mostly FPS so I was wondering why aren't they using keyboard for that matter.

Looks cool. Really don't like the writing, though. I get they're going for a punky-trash-talky-everyone-is-a-dick thing, but it feels a little juvenile at times, like Sin City.

Yup. If the future is going to be this edgy, I'll have to opt for living in isolation off the grid.

The "everyone's an ass, and we're all just going with it" attitudes of the general populace in The Witcher 3 was my least favorite aspect of the game. I get that it makes it easier to cause mayhem without a conscience. It also makes it hard to care about anyone or anything. I'm also aware that I'm in the minority here, given that it kept me from even bothering with GTA V.

The problem is, I can see this attitude having a real-world impact on my life. Not in some vague theoretical sense, but playing out in real time around me. It makes "entertainment" with this mindset hard to ignore as mere fantasy. If there's nobody in the Cyberpunk world who is trying to make it a better place then I think I'll just sit it out. (And yes, people are going to cite the source material as the rationale, which is an inevitable excuse but if it really does dictate that nobody can try to be vaguely decent then it's simply an unappealing place to draw from. At least from my perspective. YMMV.)

I agree with that.
Just talking visuals here, not AI or other things. At E3, journalists said Cyberpunk 2077 was the most impressive thing ever visually. After watchoing that gameplay video, it's clearly wasn't the case.

Well I read and heard something else then 'cause what I got from the E3 previews etc. is that the game looked great not jaw dropping great but something that actually looks like you could play on current console. It's the scope and fidelity (i.e. no or almost no loading screens), that will be it's strong points in terms of technicality.

Just saw it. I think this is nuts even at this state, like next-gen nuts (weel, graphics may not be the best I've seen, but the density wow), if they're able to fullfill the inmersion promise they talk about.

I just have the feeling this will be one of those legendary demos that even when the game comes out people will still talk about, for better or worse.

Also, the UI looks pretty bad and the quest while design wise was good with a lot of different ways to approach it, story wise it was really boring unlike Witcher 3 quests which were really fun and entertaining most the times.

Not a big fan of Jackie (or any of the other NPCs shown) either.

First impression for me was ok, but nothing that I went nuts about.
I will certainly take more looks in future vids though, it's still a bit interesting

This looks too good to be true, like you understand why it's been in development for so long. The attention to detail is simply astounding, gonna play it on the PS5, don't see how it's going to run on the current gen.

Yeah, and I wished they'd used a mouse as some of the FPS combat looked more sluggish than it could have.

I only talked about RDR2 because people were saying that RDR2 looks better than this, and that, imo, is simply not true at all. I admit that I wasn't blown away by the RDR2 gameplay reveal and nothing about it seemed that innovative for me. But that was under 10min with different bits, this was a full blown 48min gameplay reveal. From what I've seen of both games, Cyberpunk 2077 does indeed seem much more ambitious and "next-gen" (as in RDR2 looks like a end-gen game and 2077 looks like an early next-gen game)
i just don't see it...RDR 2 is incredibly innovated, read the previews, they are doing a whole bunch of stuff

I have a feeling this will go the complete opposite way of the Witcher 3 reveal "downgrade" shenanigans.

They are showing something early, that might not be "super" impressive, but shows tons of promise and already looks pretty damn solid. Then they are going to "upgrade" it with tons of polish that usually comes towards the end of the dev cycle and the launch version will be completely mind blowing.

I'm going to be extremely disappointed if there arent sliders for body customization and it's all presets with some skin and hair options.
Tbh I would actually love that. Characters built in character creators almost always have terrible animations, if there are prebuilt faces they would hopefully be more likely to look good.

Is Jackie (I think that was his name) going to be with us during every mission? I like going solo in this games.

Game is probably going to get some huge downgrades on the base PS4/One. Seems like the type of game I would want to play on PS5

Those names are pretty much established cyberpunk slang

That's my bad, this wasn't about the rocker/dirt/whateverboys.
This is the UI element Harlequin was talking about.

I don't like this disclaimer at all. You don't get to generate huge hype by showing a tonne of features without being held to account later, whatever stage of development it's at.

People are perfectly within their rights to use this gameplay in future to protest if there are big features missing that are shown here. If the devs aren't convinced these big features will ship, then don't show them here, or own up to removing them before release.

Anyway, about to watch this gameplay so maybe my principles will go out the window afterwards...

This mentality is exactly why they initially did not want to show the footage.

Game development is dynamic.

Maybe some woudl think that it was the XB O X version because of that. They should have shown keyboard buttons instead if you ask me.

48 minute demo at 4K rez with very high bitrate would be a 100GB video lol

I mean that makes sense, but they could also split it up

No idea, it started happening this year, and all publishers do it (Sony, Ubisoft, and others). I'm guessing they simply can't handle distributing the 4K files themselves, and their press sites already die every time something big happens.
Anyway, even at 1080p it will still be much higher bitrate than Youtube's 4K, so we should get more details when things start moving.

That's a bummer; will still check out the 1080p version from you guys. I really dislike YouTube's compression so your website is pretty much a godsend in that regard which is why I hope that publishers not sending 4K video is only a phase right now and not something permanent

Loved all of it except for the hud. The way point markers were just blastered on the screen which kinda goes with the futuristic theme

Looks incredible and gameplay is like a jazzed-up Deus Ex (good). The two main characters are pretty grating, though. Lot of clearly...problematic stuff with regards to gender and a bit lower-brow themes than Deus Ex. Still, looking forward to seeing more.

What's problematic? They're going for a very seedy style and I'm hoping we'll get some real moral dilemmas later in the game.

Looks good for a game at this stage in development. I expected the combat to carry a lot more punch than what the video showed, though. It was pretty bland. Hopefully it really is a game that branches out as far as different choices go. Their views on combat being content as if it's the only content a designer could provide in an RPG worries me a bit.

I'm wasn't hyped for the game before, and the demo didn't do anything for me.

Is the hype for this game based on CDPR's great storytelling? Because the gameplay looked like any generic FPS.
