Can't believe there are people complaining about gangsters and fixers using slurs.....

Imagine directing Goodfellas or the departed without using slurs.

Louisiana
I watched it live and when it was over I had no idea that almost an hour had passed. Absolutely incredible. I was mildly excited for it, but now I'm all in.

Immediate impressions (with the full understanding that it's WIP)

Pros
  • Love female V's voice
  • Character designs are really good
  • World and enviroments look amazing
  • World feels alive in a way no other game ever has
  • Combat looks amazing
  • Dialogue choices seem impactful (unlike something like FO4)
  • I really like the first person angle

Cons
  • Streets seem kinda empty during the driving segments. Several stretches had literally no other cars on the roads. I hope this is because those road are kinda meant to be roads that just aren't used much. But yeah, hope for some more vehicle density in the final release.

Mixed
  • Lighting seems to work really well for the most part, however harsh sunlight kinda seems to wash away the details. This felt most apparent when the Trauma team were picking up the wounded woman, and when V was riding in the car with the gold-armed mob boss (dex was it?)
  • UI is a bit of a mixed bag. Some parts of it are amazing. Stuff like when V hacks the enemy, the character creator, the inventory, and the face cam that pops up when when npcs contact you look great and feel very contextual within the game. However I'm not really sold on the elements of the UI that's the more standard game UI stuff. Things like waypoint markers, enemy levels, dmg numbers, button prompts etc. I get that some of it, like waypoint markers, are probably necessary. However I definitely hope it's possible to at least turn off things like dmg number(don't need these), health bars(feels too "gamey", would much rather have something like an optic implant that can measure enemy vitals like pulse and mental state), and enemy levels(I would much rather not have these displayed, and then have to scan enemies like was shown in the demo in order to find out whether I should engage an enemy)

This looks like it's picking up the torch right where Deus Ex dropped it off. And running with it. So happy that it's first person :)

I could only follow Nibel 's Twitter feed as I raced down the Ohio Turnpike - thank god for those gifs and screens. Can not wait to get back in four hours and play all 48 glorious minutes on a proper screen!

i mean the indoor areas look ok, but the outdoor areas look better than anything ive seen this gen. the number of NPCs, the wonderful skyline, the third person driving all look better than anything on current gen consoles.

indoor areas though are clearly outmatched by TLOU and god of war.
Red Dead Redemption 2's skybox, atmosphere, lighting and environments absolutely rivals Cyperpunk's based on the video

Great demo, but still not all that people spoke about 'nothing can run this game' talk. I remember John speaking of the closed E3 like 'no video game could run this', but after that for me is still possible.
At least they give us gameplay.

Ok graphics wise... MAYBE not the BEST i've seen. But when she went down the elevator, and you saw this is a TRUE bustling city... The sheer SIZE of the world the amount of characters, the fact it looks like you can go EVERYWHERE... THAT's what's next gen about it. It looks like TRUE living breathing world. More than GTA 5, More than Red Dead... Unlike other open world games, this isn't hyperbole.

As impressive as it looks looks( Which it does and oozes atmosphere) I can't help but feel disconnected still By flat TV gaming, As VR really does do immersion better, And all I could think while watching the gameplay was how much better it would be in VR, Actually seeing and being inside the world rather than staring at it on a screen and panning the camera around.

Hopefully 10 years from now I'll have that dream lived out, Cyberpunk/VR.

The gunplay doesnt look good at all just judging from the first few minutes.

As someone who doesn't think much of TW3's combat, I thought it looked pretty promising. Cool guns, lots of options and I dug that little boss fight where she was sliding under gunfire, double jumping, going into slow-mo etc. I mean, it probably won't top Doom 2016 or Halo CE but as far as RPGs go, it looks pretty promising I thought. Wall-running is cool as well.

I know there was a lot of "opinionated conversation" around E3 over the game's choice of perspective but after seeing this... man am I glad this is first person... so fucking glad. I wouldnt get near the vibes/immersion etc. from playing puppeteer... and the cool bits that only could happen in this perspective add so much to the experience. Game looks amazing all around. Completely dig the entire art direction as well. Can not wait!

Still kinda crazy CDPR did this. Just think for example R* did this with Red Dead. So much respect for them.

I hope the game will melt my eyeballs when it is released but I have to say I did not thing the graphics were that special - but I am willing to buy that that is due to the unprecedented scope and complexity of the gameworld.

Glad that you enjoyed it; I highly recommend watching the official video not only because of higher quality video and audio, but also because they talk *a lot* about various gameplay mechanics, the world and its inhabitants - there was a ton of info that I didn't put into my stuff

I don't see it sorry

it looks great, but theres nothing in that video that makes me think its more ambitios or more "alive" than Red Dead Redemption 2

Gunplay will live and die by how the guns respond, and/or how bullet-spongey enemies get. Here the guns seemed pretty responsive (along with the opportunity to upgrade them), and non-boss enemies felt like they went down reasonably quick.

Other than that....things definitely looked good, but I can see how this is a WIP build rather than a finished product.

At any rate, looked much more 'reasonable' for current-gen compared to the previous E3 trailer.
