Indie Games? Killer Queen Black is suppose to come out late this year and that's one of the indie games I'm looking forward to. Its a multiplayer game that combines Joust combat with Starcraft economic management with 3 ways to win (Killing the opposing queen 3 times, collecting the most berries and riding a snail to the other side). Hopefully Wargroove, which is an Advance Wars inspired Turn Based Strategy game, comes out this year. There's also Ooblets which is the Double Fine Pokemon like game that is slated for 2018 too, but I'm not so sure if its a 2018 game anymore. There's a couple of promising Puzzle games coming out including The Gardens Between and Baba is You. One more thing, Shapeshifting Detective looks like something for Contradiction fans like myself will be super into.

So, what is the appeal of Senran Kagura? Is it literally just a flowblown "Pander to perverts with busty anime girls whose clothes is about to fall off in the most obvious ways possible"or is there actual depth to the lore that makes it more interesting than it appears. Because anytime I see anything on it, its just a pervy anime game series that might top Dead or Alive in that fashion.

supposedly the story is entertaining/good but that's a liiiiittle difficult for me to buy given what it is

and they sure have somehow leaned even harder into the fan service with these spinoffs

I started playing Battle Chef Brigade because it was one of those Twitch giveaway games, and that game is bad.

Yeah something about BCB always feels like it's just off by one degree to make it a game I really want to play.

If the combat doesn't look so bland.

If the cooking wasn't some weird puzzle thing.

If the art doesn't look so unfinished.

It's just a very simple combat game attached to a very simple puzzle game. No part of the game is a big enough draw on it's own, and because of how incongruous it is, the game is no more than the sum of its parts.

I liked that game, but what I would far prefer as a food fighter is a mix of Cooking Mama and Monster Hunter.

I think there's something to the 'you have to go hunt your ingredients, and then you have to figure out how best to use your ingredients' aspect to it with the time. The thing is... it somehow doesn't tie together in this... I don't know, synergistic kind of way? There's not enough pulling the two aspects to reinforce one another. You just do one thing, then do the other.

The combat is also kinda unfulfilling if I'm being honest.

Death Stranding is going to be directly about Hideo Kojima's attempt to resist the passage of time affecting, and therefore eventually killing, his favorite actors by preserving them forever in a video game

I'm watching the AdVenture Capitalist quicklook on GBI right now and there's something about the Moon Music that makes me feel...weird.... I'm not sure what it is exactly? It's kinda good but at the same time it triggers some anxiety in me?

Fucking weird...
