They need to release their game in Q1/2, stay as faraway from COD as possible.

Can confirm that Respawn was pitching a new Medal of Honor game.

How big is respawn? I know Vince and team are notoriously efficient, but them making that AND Jedi at the same time would be impressive.

I don't think anything is happening with Titanfall anytime soon. Respawn is focusing on Star Wars and both games were successes but they didn't sell like gangbusters so I think EA is putting it on ice.

As was said before, EA is legally obligated to release TF3.

So you're saying that this guy just shot in the dark and guessed the DLC titan's name in his leak right? And the canned MoH project might've been true, too, considering that Respawn teased a WW2(?) VR game not too long ago.

Also, Titanfall's codenames (R1=Titanfall 1, R2 = Titanfall 2) are fairly known to a lot of Titanfall hardcore fans, I really wouldn't be surprised if they referred to it as R3 and the guy caught on.
Schreier's comment is pretty illuminating so I'm wrong to call it outright crap - which I thought it was. But the whole setup of the leak is fucking bizarre. These dudes really talk about secret projects frequently and loudly enough that a worker in a damn sushi restaurant knows the scoop on everything they're working on? I know these aren't exactly state secrets, but still.

This is nice to hear

I haven't heard a ton about it honestly just a little bit. But from what I heard EA is really confident in it

I think the reason it wasnt shown is because it has no impact on the current fiscal year and EA is still one of the few companies that still sees their Press Conference in a lot of ways as messaging to their current and potential future shareholders

I hope they don't use frostbite , there hasn't been a game with good net code and solid 60 FPS on that engine yet.

I know they lost about a dozen key members to Infinity Ward who are launching MW4 + MW2 Remaster / Combo (I think they may release all MW2 maps with MW4) next year. Wouldn't surprise me if MoH was canned and put into a VR game. I would expect 2020 Titanfall 3 2019 Jedi Fallen Order.

Didn't Zampella say at E3 that Fallen Order was 2019?

Edit: misread. lol

They're such a great studio. Titanfall and Titanfall 2 were very good games hampered with some launch woo's.

Battlefield 4 post launch (after multiple patches) had great net code and 60fps.

Yah I wrote that wrong, I would not be surpised to see it bumped into Q1 2020. Next holiday season seems like a bad idea. Isn't battlefield / battlefront alternating still?

Q4 2019:
  1. Gears 5
  2. Likely Halo Spin Off
  3. Modern Warfare 4
  4. Possible MW2 Remake
  5. Possible RDR2 PC Port
  6. TLOU2?
  7. Watch Dogs 3(?)
  8. Doom Eternal(?)
  9. Battlefront 3 (?)
  10. Control
  11. A Bethesda game

I still really wish that Titanfall 2 had come to the Switch. With its excellent single player campaign and the system's lack of competitive shooters, I think it really would have found its audience there.

At least we're not doing Medal of Honor though. Yikes.

Thank god they dropped Medal of Honor. That would be such a sad waste of this studios talents.

I suspect Titanfall 3 will be revealed at the Game Awards in December, or E3 2019.

I wonder if it's getting revealed this PSX, considering that Sony got the marketing deal for the Battlefront games despite EA being in cahoots with Microsoft.

Not on PS4/XB1, runs around 35-60 FPS depending on mode / map.

I played on it on PS4 and tbh it was fine for me, but it's been so long maybe I'm wrong?

With that said the scale of Battlefield is much larger. You have more destruction, more players, vehicles, air combat, levolution, etc.

With Titanfall it would be AI, Titans, Static Maps, and wouldn't require 60+ players in the same game.

Didn't their Star Wars game look so good it played a large role in shutting down the Visceral Star Wars game?

That part I cant confirm because I'm not familiar at all with the Visceral situation outside of what went public

But I believe jschreier heard and reported something along those lines

No, what I reported was that Nexon made an offer to buy Respawn. EA had first right of refusal, so EA had to step in and make the purchase themselves to avoid losing the massive investment they'd made in the Titanfall IP and Star Wars game. And I suppose they had to get the cash from somewhere.

That's a real shame them. I was under the impression the two games were similar and Respawn had made much more progress in a shorter amount of time, on top of being a more impressive game, so EA decided it was best to move on from Visceral's game.

Either way, it was really sad Visceral go out that way. Real shame will never get to see Amy Henning's Star Wars too. Hopefully one day the story/script details for that game will surface up.

There's no way it got canceled.

Release dates shift all the time behind the scenes, and the acqusition by EA probably changed some things on their roadmap.

Yeah I knew for sure it wasnt the main factor, I just thought I recalled you mentioned in your article at one point that EA felt good about Respawns title so it made the blow of losing Viscerals Star Wars game (in the short term until the possible reboot) sting a little less

I read and hear a lot though so my apologies if I'm getting my streams mixed up with someone else who said that

As someone who just finished titanfall 2 campaign for the 3rd time yesterday, please be true. Easily the best controlling fps on any platform. Its criminal cod still sells huge while titanfall bombs.

Ah, not me! I don't think they're similar games at all. One is about Jedi; the other was a heist game with no Jedi at all.

More than anything i'm really curious with what kind of game they are doing with Star Wars: Jedi the Fallen Order.

A hack'n slash? Action RPG? TPS?

MakingStarWars had a pretty in-depth summary of the story of Project Ragtag.

This leak is one of the most stupid ones that I saw. lmao But considering that a guy found Shadow of Tomb Raider in the Metro, I can't discard it lol

I hope EA gives Titanfall 3 the space it absolutely deserves, but reguardless, I'm grabbing it day 0 no question, CoD is obsolete with Titanfall on the block

The fact it was sandwhiched between ea own blockbuster game was even more baffling

People better buy titanfall 3, espcially those who complain theres no dlc free high action and interesting multiplayer games

Its still being made, just all hands probably are focusing on the star wars game.

As far as we know, the date was decided by Respawn and EA.

EA expect their games to sell 10 mil of copies. Anything below 10 mil is considered below expectancy. Just look at Dead Space 3. Sold really good amount of copies, yet Visceral was put on chopping block because it did not exceed EA's ridiculously high expectations. Titanfall 2 sold 5-6 million copies, really good number if you look at from ordinary game company's view, but papa EA was not pleased with it and will probably have Respawn murdered if the next one does not meet their insane expectations, just like all other Respawn's predecessors.

What you just described is true for every company. If it's below their original expectations, it's below. Don't matter if the game sold 7 million and is a big number. For a company, selling less is obviously below. What a company wants is for the game to surpass that expectation to reach maximum profit for them.

As an example, COD Infinity Warfare sold more than 15 million if I'm not mistaken but it was below Activision Blizzard expectations. The number being big and all is meaningless for those results.

I still think Titanfall would work perfect as a Destiny Style Game. How great could a Raid and jumping Puzzles with the Titanfall Movement be?
I don't see Anthem fit this because Titanfall as a 1st Person Shooter is something different, but it could be too similar for EA.

When they want Titanfall 3 (same style Game as 2) to sell better Titanfall 2 should be a PSPlus/GwG Title some Month before Launch. Everyone i convinced to buy this Game in a Sale was excited how good it is. But they would have never bought it without my constant talking how great it is.

I really don't understand why Titanfall 2 didn't do as good as expected. The game has one of the best if not the best single player campaigns in a FPS this Gen. I jumped on Friday night with a couple of friends and played online for 4 hours. The game is a blast. I really can't wait for TF3 and hope EA doesn't push it to the side for the Star Wars game. I wish they could switch to the Frost bite engine...

A combination of the game coming out at a really bad time to get an initial player base, and the general "fuck robots, jetpacks, and wall running, we want boots on the ground!" zeitgeist that happened around the time the Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 trailers came out.

I was convinced that the game could eventually gain a steady playerbase like what happened with R6 Siege and For Honor, but it seems like they didn't get the funds to do the kind of postlaunch support needed for that kind of resurgence.
