I hate tweets like this. Where was God when this was happening? Also, guess God wasn't with the ones who are dead.
Edit: I am glad some wounded are ok though.
It's really easy to understand that it's a coping mechanism.

Damn that video was something else, you see nothing but hearing is enough, Jesus, I can't imagine.
What is known right now? The guy just opened fire out of the blue?
More importantly, what outfit was he wearing?
I still get where they're coming from, but let's not turn this into a debate about religion. The person who posted the tweet is the mother of the guy lying in the hospital bed after taking three bullets.

The meaning is, "everything that happens in this world is up to fate, and I'm not responsible for anything."I tend to translate "God was with me" comments by survivors as "I am very relieved that I am OK". I understand that a strictly literal interpretation can have some unsettling connotations, but I tend to give people who just survived a life-threatening event a pass on that.
Feel free to dislike the dude, but he is right in this case. Media loves to use gaming as an easy scapegoat, and no one writing stories for them is likely to understand what tournaments are really about. They were playing a football game, video games are not going to be blamed
It's a coping mechanism. Moreover, in these situations people are going be focused on their loved ones first and foremost.I know, but think of the mothers of the dead and how they feel reading that. I realize the stress and don't like criticizing victims, but that's a really insensitive thing to say.

DefinitelySo is throwing some dumbass "where was god then" debate into the void when a mother express gratitude in her own way when her kid didn't get shot to death.

Guess god wasn't with the people who were murdered? Always seems like an offensive thing to say in this situation to me, unless no one died.
Yeah exactly. I'm not religious and it's not at all hard to understand their perspective. So is throwing some dumbass "where was god then" debate into the void when a mother express gratitude in her own way when her kid didn't get shot to death.

People have been killed lets not jump onto victims who share differing beliefs than you eh people? They are trying to cope with a tragedy that affected them a hell of a lot more than you. Leave them alone.Guess god wasn't with the people who were murdered? Always seems like an offensive thing to say in this situation to me, unless no one died.

Don't blame America for you being gullible enough to believe Trump.
Honestly if the people of Florida are this ignorant, it would explain why the state is a hot bed for mass shootings. Not all religious people apply their religion in such a stupid, irresponsible way. This brand of "belief" deserves to be called out for how pernicious it is to society.People have been killed lets not jump onto victims who share differing beliefs than you eh people? Such a shitty post. This is not a game, you negativity seeping person. If a God gave a shit none of this would have happened.
But honestly, it's just them trying to make the better of a bad situation, I'm glad they survived.

It has nothing to do with beliefs, it's saying god wasn't with them. What if they had the same faith? It just seems kind of gross to the victims regardless.

No, it's on Twitter it must be true!

My aunt, uncle and cousins live in Wheeling.Well, this hits home. I guess Spotme was from West Virginia? I grew up in WV and went to WVU. I can't find any reference to his real name.
Edit: Taylor Robertson, 27, of Ballard, West Virginia.
I don't know. I kind of felt like the elementary school being shot up was worse. You know all of these shootings are absolutely gut wrenching but this happening at a video game tournament hits sooo much harder for me. Iv become pretty desensitized over the years but I can't stop thinking about this one at all.
