The pace of the game in some sections is indeed somewhat on the mellow exploratory side (but definitely not always). I played the game and enjoyed it at the time, the only problems I had with it were just 2 very short sections (less than a minute each) where I had to pass on the game to one of my daughters that has better reflexes than I do, AND that the "true ending" (which is not really important) is only achievable if you 100% the game (I had 99% and looking for that one missing thing in this game is too much of a chore). I think most people who play the game don't even know they haven't reached the true ending...
It's still on my wishlist. Problem is there is like 20 games on my wishlist I should buy first and at least the same amount of games I have already bought which are unfinished. If Switch was something like Wii U I would have already bought it and probably liked it. Everything in demo felt good, only it was a little boring side, and generally I am not against slower pace, actually I usually prefer that and exploration. Reading your impressions makes me consider if I should just buy the game next time it is on sale. The price is very low at least.
