Well this is certainly one of the dumbest downgrade controversies I've seen yet.

Find something else to do. This is some petty, pointless shit. The game comes out soon anyway.

NFS 2015 had one of my favorite downgrade controversies. EA had showed gameplay at E3 and then showed it again at gamescom. People then started claiming that the gamescom build was downgraded compared to the E3 one. A developer popped into the thread and said that he knew for a fact that it hadn't been downgraded compared to the E3 demo because the gamescom demo was actually the exact same demo that they brought to E3.

That one comparison pic with the puddles really hurts. Looks like a downgrade judging that pic alone.

Well they've gone from

"they (puddles) are not reduced"

to

"we reduced the amount of puddles"

Maybe they need to stop responding.

Lighting improved a ton. Good to see one of these threads where the older material doesn't win by a landslide.

It's hard to pick. Some shots 2018 is clearly better and some 2017 is better.

Like the Shocker scene is entirely better than 2017. While the helicopter catch is in parts better and in parts worse than 2017.

It's so weird to see people with no technical knowledge double down on their 'expose'. Especially when they start throwing around terms like ambient occlusion without knowing how that is affected by different light sources etc. All that footage available yet they refuse to move on from a single screenshot.

Yeah. This is the same guy who said 720p with anti-aliasing looks identical to 1080p.

That dealergaming guy is a complete joke. He's said so many things that have been flat out wrong. His only job appears to be to build up Xbox as much as possible, facts be damned.

They're still going at it.

I wonder if Digital Foundry will do a 2017 vs 2018 comparison.

I think I've found definitive proof of the downgradeton:

2018:

You can't tell me there hasn't been a significant hit there.
