Seriously. Fuck Scott, Fuck Rubio and motherfuck every single pol suckling at the NRA's monetary teat. That blood spilled is on their hands.

Pulse, Parkland and now this? Vote these pieces of garbage out and take back your state from these crazies.

Scott is running for Senate right now, so not only keep him from winning that seat, but also make sure his successor isn't gun crazy either.

As a Floridian, I'm voting against him(always have).

The witness that claims there were two shooters wasn't there. Don't believe people who are relating stories they claim to have heard from others.

I don't think this was a big EA tourney, from what I've heard it was a small thing at a bar that was merely sanctioned by EA. And even if it was big, a lack of security isn't the fucking problem.

No! I watched Trueboy before and now he's gone? I'm so mad right now. This is so frustrating!

Bread was the killer? He did this? He was the piece of crap that shot up the place and costed the lives of four innocents? I'm furious.

Nobody knows yet. All I know for sure is that is Trueboy in the video with a red dot over his chest before it cuts away.

Yeah. We should wait for official confirmations. Too much gray right now.

Yeah, competitive Madden more than any other game has a lot of players that like to use tilt as a strategy. I do wonder why that is, because it's not like other games dont have a tilt factor either, but players of other games tend to keep it light.

Maybe there should be anti-toxicity rules.

Regardless, if it turns out that's the motive of the shooter. There's no way there's going to be another sponsored Madden tournament much less a rule change.

Man. So terrible. I can't imagine.

I honestly figured the first we'd hear of this would be in a school with students back in this year, but this is still so tragic. Praying for the families today AND voting for some major restrictions here in Tennessee (despite knowing I'm overwhelmed by conservatives here)

I magically solved the gun situation. They are banned as of right now. Do you feel safe?
I'm from Northern Ireland which literally had a period of time where you can get shot or blown up and we still weren't as fucked up as the US - and we bloody did the hard work to make it better too.

LA Times has an interview with a dude (StevieJ) who was in the building and competed in the tournament, think they have the best source right now.

The guy shot because he was mad that he lost!?!? We lost four lives because of some idiot's lack of accepting when something doesn't go his way?!
I can't imagine you'd bring a weapon to an event like this and then just decide to open fire when you lose, I wouldn't be surprised if we discover it was premeditated, if finding that out is even a possibility.

Do these Madden games often get incredibly tense/unprofessional? Think Ive seen the same rage and angry yelling in COD tournaments. It's embarrassing.

If this was truly caused because of a guy losing the game, these tournament organizers need to be really strict on professionalism. If they allow environments to get toxic, it's on them to bear the responsibility to clean up some of the toxicity. I dont believe Siege tournaments allow toxicity the same way Ive seen tons of toxicity in COD tournaments, for example.

People who yell and belittle opponents should never be allowed in these tournaments.

I'm starting to feel like America isnt for me ..this country has a sickness with it's refusal to do anything about guns. It's not a society for anyone that wants to live a decent life.

I love competitive gaming and watch it all the time. Seeing those two lads get attacked mid-game like that somehow hits close to home to me. Horrifying.

RIP to the deceased and best wishes to those injured.

There will be more to it than that, even if on the surface that appears to be the reason. If the story of the player Bread being the shooter is correct. We don't know yet. Just lots of speculation.

Wait with assumptions about what happened and the motives if we have something from officials and not some twitterer

Fuck every single person that owns a gun. You are part of the fucking problem.
I get the sentiment, I really do, and I'm not even going to say you're wrong. I don't think I'm part of the problem. I live in the middle of nowhere in a very small town, and have a pretty large property that frequently gets bears, coyotes, wolves, all sorts of wildlife. I have animals and kids that I have to protect, and our town literally has like 5 police officers including the Chief. Thankfully I haven't been in a situation where I've had to use it since I've been here, but if there ever was a scenario where my dog or my chickens or my kids were being attacked I couldn't wait for the police to show up. I don't have guns for sport or hunting, I think both are stupid, I don't take my guns out just to go shooting. I vote against politicians who favor lax guns laws, I think the NRA is abhorrent, in fact I've donated to the Brady Campaign. I nor anyone in my household suffers from any mental illness. I would be fine with being on a national registry or undergoing routine safety checks, or even paying a federal tax. I have never, ever operated a firearm improperly or in any way outside of safe handling.

However, you might be right, maybe the only way to fix things is to just melt down every gun as they are found. I don't know, I really don't know what the answer is, but what we're doing now isn't working. Our whole culture is sick with the way we look at and treat guns.

That footage in the OP is terrifying. Especially knowing the guy in the red hoodie is most likely dead.

Heart goes out to the victim's family.

Fuck this country, man.

No because the bad guys will still be able to get them just like they do in every other civilized country that has banned guns yet still has mass shootings every week.

I'm from Northern Ireland which literally had a period of time where you can get shot or blown up and we still weren't as fucked up as the US - and we bloody did the hard work to make it better too.

Making my point. rras1994 The hard work is isn't the end game. The acceptance and culture is going to take generations to fix.

So it was gamer rage? Fuck, was worried that was the case. When I saw the thread I remember seeing a video a few years back where someone lost to someone else in a Chinese cyber cafe, and slit their throat on the security camera. Was hoping this would be different... to kill over something so trivial...

And why the hell did this guy bring a gun to a madden competition? I'm wondering if he decided to do this beforehand, or if he actually just carries a gun with him everywhere.

Anyways, won't leap to any more assumptions until more details are released.

Welp, I'm never going to a public video game event.

Online gamer communites are such festering pits of toxicity I'm surprised it took until 2018 for someting like this to happen.

Rest in peace to all of the victims. Fuck all of the people who no doubt fostered this individual's worldview, and fuck all the Republicans who allowed yet another mass shooting to happen.

I remember people complaining at EVO this year that the bags checking took too long, I hope they increase the security and extend to even checking inside the arcade stick.

Reminder that US gun culture is largely responsible for the gun trafficking and gun violence going on up here in Canada and in Mexico/Central America. That shit impacts more then you guys.

War of words sure. That happens once in a while, even at the EA majors. Usually all headgames though. There have been physical altercations at small tourneys in the past, but nothing close to this.
