A few years back there were some assholes that were planning to shoot up a Pokemon tournament. They had their weapons with them when the police found them and managed to stop it. This is what they had on them
E3 this year had hugely increased security with rows of detectors and personnel to check bags (which the public couldn't even enter with), I wouldn't be surprised if that will extend to everything going forward, especially in the US. It's unfortunate but yeah until actual action is taken it'll be a case of putting a band-aid on the problem.

I've had family who openly cry at news of mass shooting continue to defend gun ownership. It's just one of those things that has been ingrained into some people unfortunately.
