If you want hot CSU/Hawaii talk (and by that I mean shitposts) and you aren't in the Discord, PM me. I think live game talk is primarily going to be in there.

Oh man lol.

JSU forces a 3/out and NCA has to put from their end zone but the PR muffs and gives the ball back at midfield. Another 3/out and punt and the PR muffs it again but they recover.

That 10 win season was a blip on the radar.

Rice's entire athletic department is pretty embarrassing tbh. We're basically the Vandy of the Group of 5.
Basketball was turning around until VCU called Rhoades home - Sorry not sorry.

I always remember Rice as a triple option team. Where they are you'd think they could get some kids who'd get lost at a UT or A&M but I guess Houston just out efforted them on that front.

Rice is a good school IIRC, so I'm guessing it's probably hard for them to rely on leftovers from the P5 schools in-state being able to get in.

I remember them giving Hawaii fits with the triple option.

It's our academics. When I ran track, my coach hardly ever bothered to recruit sprinters. But he'd recruit distance runners and every manner of field event folks.

You can read between the lines as to what his belief was. Smh

It's not quite that bad with the football team, but, still not far off.

Ryseing, have you seen this shit? You know about the taking down of the Silent Sam confederate monument on campus this past week. Not only do they plan on replacing it in a 90 day timeframe, they're getting some support from some interesting places

I mean, they were the White Phantoms a long time ago.

What should we expect from a university that used African American studies related courses as sham classes where nobody would learn anything from them?

Man, Tristen Wallace at Prairie View looked legit af. He got booted from Oregon a couple years ago and ended up there.

Wyoming looking salty (albeit against NMSU).

I hate this fucking state so much. You go 20 minutes from RTP/Charlotte/Boone/Asheville, it's the deep South. God I can't wait to move.

Gonna enjoy watching it next to my roommate so I can bug him lmao. All eyes on you, Jimbo. Any other notable Thursday or Friday games?

Making the list right now. Syracuse @ Western Michigan might be interesting if only for the @ G5 school factor. Northwestern @ Purdue is opening week Thursday conference play which is always fun. And of course, we have the Civil Conflict, the nation's most important rivalry game.

Been reading a few articles about Nebraska lately. I do not think they are ready just yet, but expect them to be a spoiler team of sorts. (In my opinion) What's the over/under here for them?

To be more specific, 6 wins, over/under?

Over.

The roster, while it had some gaping holes in a few positions (that have been pretty impressively patched up by Scott Frost and co) - had some serious talent in certain spots (esp WR). Adrian Martinez is the real deal and will become the first True Freshman QB to ever start the opener for Nebraska.

The buy-in and work ethic now is pretty much a 180 from Mike Riley.

I'd be more shocked by them only winning 5, then I would by them winning 8 or 9.

I think 7 or 8 wins seems right, 6 could happen, 9 could happen, 10 or 5 would be shocking to me.

Even if they only win 6, I expect a lot of positive trajectory

Nebraska is a 6 win team if Frost has the team in a recovery trajectory. They'll have to get their 7th win off MSU @ home, which is not a guarantee, but it being a home game does help their odds.

Basically, the goal this year is.. go to a bowl.

W - Akron
W - Colorado
W - Troy
L - Michigan
W - Purdue
L - Wisconsin
W - Minnesota
L - Ohio State (the goal here is to make Ohio State at least punt the ball once)
W - Illinois
W/L -Michigan State
L - Iowa

Call me ballsy, but i have 8 wins. Agreed on your wins except the Iowa loss. I don't really expect much from Iowa (unless they are playing Penn St), but i will admit that the Michigan St game could go either way.
