its a sample of venom which comes out and infects you and turns the game into an augmented reality kind of thing. That's why its so expensive.

Spider-Man Collector's Edition statue "revealing summer 2018" -- so uh, where is it?

My hope is that they're trying to keep it under wraps cause they want Venom to be a big reveal. We'll see soon enough!

B if it doesn't, you can wait until it comes out in australia / NZ on Sept 6th and see one opened there
C. You can return it unopened, hook up someone who does want it or resell on eBay for profit because these are sold out
As an Australian, when you say Sept. 6th are you speaking as September 6th in America or September 6th in Australia because if it actually comes out a day earlier down here (and on my birthday) then that'd just be a gigantic cherry on my day :D

I'm less curious about what it is, and more just want to see an unboxing to see the actual quality of the statue. Not all CE statues are created equal, and if the build/paint quality is poor then someone else can have my pre order.
It's Gentle Giant. They crush this stuff. We refused to work with someone we knew wouldn't deliver.
Gentle Giant's office is 5 minutes from Insomniac: Eric Monacelli and I were there multiple times, and our art team went over too.
I have a Paint Master hidden at my desk and a ton of Insomniacs pre-ordered instantly after seeing it.

well you never know --- people just like to ensure they'll get one since pre-ordering is risk-free (you can cancel of course), and if we do end up getting them, then an extra never hurts for gifts etc as we all have friends or family asking about them now because you can't find them
It's Miles and Spider-Man dies half way through the game and he replaces Peter kinda how like John gets replaced in RDR.

I do think this probably should have been known when the CE was announced but the clarification is appreciated.
Gentle Giant was an excellent choice. I collect many statues from many brands and GG has always been consistantly good and for great prices. Excited to unbox this statue when I finish the game.

I'm not that specialized in the Spider-Man universe but I saw it and didn't get it can anybody DM me what
the hell is that thing supposed to be?
I get that they want it to be a surprise who the last member who they teased at E3 is but come on it was obvious that its gonna be one of the 2 most iconic Spiderman villains. And shock its one of the two.
We now know Spider-Man murders all his foes by putting them in a big blender. Mega spoilery.
Really now? That is all were hiding? Yeah, no... Not really a spoiler. I guess that's one way to drum up hype. On the other hand, Spidey looks good. Would need to see better quality pics to judge the sculpt and paint though .
What probably changed was people screaming on forums about how they didn't want to be spoiled by which of literally two major Spider-Man villains it could be, so Insomniac decided to not reveal it to keep them happy.
Does it even matter? That version of the game has been sold out for months.
Oh what do we all know? What has changed exactly? They said multiple times that they won't reveal it until the game is out and Summer 2018 hasn't ended yet.
Art direction can only take you so far for a piece that size trying to work in that many elements. It's a good try but if you're into collectibles you should know that price isn't going to get you anything amazing in a game bundle.

I had friends who were pumped for the CE because of the statue but now they are like meh, not bad but not what they expected.
At no point during the CE reveal in April did Insomniac ever say they wouldn't be showing it at all before release.
They kinda just said nothing and then people started asking and were baffled that they wouldn't be showing it in advance.
The spoiler pretty much cements this as the biggest non spoiler ever. And if anything then not revealing it just led to too much hype and most people now being disappointed.
It's also very small, just a tad taller than the steelbook. Oof.
There's a European SKU that just comes with the steelbook.
Or you could probably pick up the steelbook separately on eBay.
Amazon de has some. I bought my ps4 pro 500 million edition there and they shipped internationally. If you want it faster you'd of course have to get faster shipping. Just use Google Chrome to translate.
And also you can get the free prime trial too and cancel once you get the game.
So, now I'm debating canceling my Best Buy order. Like, it looks cool, but not for the price I'm paying. I guess this collectors edition comes with the post launch DLC too, right?
