I've bought a few but they seem to have been 2017 releases:

Only 2018s have been Far Cry 5 and Monster Hunter World.

Uh... God of War? I buy games on sale, unless they're must-own-on-day-one titles like a new Devil May Cry or Halo.

I've only bought 2 games that came out this year. Most games I've bought came out last year and/or just got released on the platform I bought them. There are loads of other games that I still plan on buying this year that have already released or will be released.

I got Far Cry 5 + Dark Souls Remastered. I had never played a Far Cry game before and this looked good but after about 5 hours I was so bored of it. So that was a complete was of money. As for Dark Souls I haven't played the remaster yet but I will play it when I decide to replay the series again.

1. The Inpatient - Horrible game.

2. Monster Hunter World - Didn't enjoy it.

3. Shadow of the Colossus - Also didn't enjoy it.

4. Moss - Really enjoyed my time with it and can't wait for the inevitable sequel. In my top 5 for GotY thus far.

5. Iconoclasts - 1 of the games I've bought this year trying to get into the Metroidvania genre and not for me.

6. Celeste - See above.

7. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon - See above.

8. MLB The Show 18 - Best sports game/series that has a yearly release cadence.

9. God of War - My current GotY. Amazing game with great combat, music and characters.

10. Detroit Become Human - Best Interactive Drama game ever made. A master class in the genre and only behind GoW as my GotY.

11. Far Cry 5 - Best gameplay and exploration in the series thus far and in my top 5 for GotY so far.

12. Banner Saga 3 - Great end for the trilogy. Is the 3rd game other then Far Cry 5 and Moss currently in my top 5 after GoW and Detroit.

Those are the 2018 titles I've bought so far and I still have more that I want to buy day 1. I would also like to add that if it weren't for Game Pass I might've bought State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves and I'm glad I didn't because I didn't enjoy them.

Probably planning one more purchase this year in the form of Red Dead Redemption so overall I'm quite happy with that.

My weakness is sales of older games though.....

FighterZ- my favorite fighting game ever and I actually got decent at online (got platinum)

Detroit- better than beyond 2 souls but not as good as heavy rain. I enjoyed how the choices mattered a little more before the end but made sure the androids failed because I'm a human and I want to stay dominant

GoW- one of my favorite games of all time. Like last of us but with different combat

Shenmue collection- pretty rough so far but the voice acting is hilarious

Far cry 5- if someone can help me get the multiplayer trophies I'll sell it afterwards. The nice thing was far cry 3 classic came with it and that game is way better as is 4. I just couldn't get into 5 for some reason. It seemed less polished. That and the ending was so stupid

Shadow of the colossus- one of the best remasters ever. Gorgeous and plays way better than the original

I've been playing a lot of games that are a year or two old this year (and revisiting a lot I've finished in the past).

SOTC remake and God of War on sale. Think that is all the 2018 games. No, Civ 6 Rise and Fall was an expansion and released in 2018 so that too. Yeah having a look over the first page here - that is all. 1 Remake, 1 Reboot and 1 Expansion. Didn't finish SOTC or God of War though. Fell off both of them. Had played SOTC before on PS2 though and might get back to GoW. Looking forward to Spidey though.

Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire in May and The Walking Dead The Final Season just a few days ago. Besides that I mostly collected older games since not much else really caught my attention so far.

It's been a slow year for me, took a break after beating a lot of games in the stacked 2016 and 2017. Looking at my list I beat 52 and 43 games in those years respectively. So yeah maybe not surprising I needed a time-out. There are also generally less interesting titles for my tastes this year. I bought God of War because I'm a big fan of the franchise, that started out great but the campaign dragged on for way too long, I was a bit disappointed. Also bought and played Celeste because I love platformers. If Hollow Knight counts (technically a 2017 game) then that's the first game I've truly enjoyed a whole lot this year. I bought it on Switch and then pc, and completed it with 107%.

So only 3 so far, but I plan to play Spidey at release and also want to check out Dead Cells and RDR2 later.

I started playing Kof back at Dicember and i loved to go back to fighting games, so my personal goal was to platinum every game. Its been an awesome year for fighting games and i'm not even good at them but tons of fun with friends.

I was saving for:
Spiderman, dragon Quest, snk heroines, RdR2.
I'm going to pick up God of war, nier, and Detroit when the are cheaper.
