I'm glad I was right that this was a Fortnite reference because I was concerned that I had never heard of this in any game before.
I think it's a pretty poor list personally but what can you do. I definitely do think the two BotW choices are excellent, just not Tarry which is just bland and kind of lifeless compared to the other towns. Its design is basic and it doesn't have a lot going on. I wouldn't even put Tarry above some other BotW areas, which just have more charm going on.
I'd also personally nominate a lot of the World of Warcraft stuff as well, which to me is far more iconic and memorable then most of the stuff on the list. Also, the lack of FF or CT was the real surprise to me. Whiterun over them? >_>;;

Ha ha, I really wasn't into Tarrey Town either. Ok quest, but didn't care for the end result. Tried to push against it.
It's only natural people should blame the man they blamed for giving BotW too few stars for giving BotW too many towns.
No seriously, nothing in that top ten is more indefensible than declaring Heihachi a silver fox. THAT was the time to get out the pitch forks, demand to know which single Ally was responsible for this embarassment and be too ashamed of your Patreon dollars to make threads about the guys you support on ERA, folks.

Thanks for the pinned comment on YT Blood. I gotta say, that list looks very weird to me but can't argue with what you guys think yourselves. Can you please confirm that its not a 'each ally picks his favorite' ? From what i understood you guys debate over these, right?
Yeah, some take longer than others, but we throw a bunch of candidates at the wall, debate which actually belong there, and don't actually do writing assignments until the list is done.
Hah, I REALLY wish I liked Breath of the Wild nearly as much as the rest of the internet did after watching this list. They were some of the strengths of the game, but really didn't move the needle for me.
Also, hindsight is 20/20, but if 4 out of 10 on the list come from one game series they probably should just make the list completely Zelda specific. The definition of "towns" is also kind of hazy and differs from game to game which kind of muddies things up as well.

Damiani is one of the few reviewers objective enough to even recognize the many shortcomings of BotW (despite being a megafan of the franchise), it is funny that all the blame for the Zelda towns would fall on his shoulders.
I don't know if I could disagree with this list more, and I don't think BotW would deserve a single spot in the top one hundred towns, but these lists are just for fun. They are just the opinions of the allies. They aren't meant to be anything to get too heated about. They are just some fun fluff. Watchmojo with charm, if you will.
You have to invest in your house in Hateno to start the quest line.
It seemed like Ian was also absolutely obsessed with BotW. In general, I get the sense that the whole crew just loved that game. It doesn't seem unlikely that many had warm feelings for the towns.
Maybe it should have been "Top 10 Cozy Towns"

I think the BotW picks fit MUCH better on a Top 10 Cozy Towns list.

I've never agreed with a single GT or EZA top ten and I never will, I rarely enjoy the discussion inspired by them and only wanted them to do lists again because the format does well on YouTube and might attract more subscribers and patreons but with the response this one is attracting I'm questioning even that stance. I just hope the Allies are having a fun heated jolly time debating their top tens among themselves and don't let our overreactions get to them.

Is it? Didn't know that. Just barely got through the tutorial in the game and the vastness of the game scares me to complete it.
Probably more of a city. Although the one they picked already felt too big to qualify as a town in my mind. I'd have personally gone with the village tied to the Crones quests to represent Witcher 3, as I spend a lot of time contemplating the fate of that particular place. White Orchard is also memorable.
They really should have limited it to one per game, but I do super agree with Clock Town and Rougeport, those are amazing.

Just quickly skimming some of that Top 10 thread reaffirms my daily decision to stick to this one as my almost sole place to post on ResetEra. Some of those comments - about a dumb Top 10 that didn't exist a few hours ago - are disconcerting.
BotW is a great game and its towns are nowhere close to the best

Anyway, in jolly news I watched the Huber interview with Don. Loved hearing some of the personal anecdotes from when Don was a kid. The dino love is real haha.

I don't get it (it's their Top 10, not the only truth), but what can you do. I understand not agreeing with it and discussing it (which is of course fine), but the way some people respond to just a list is insane to me.
They didn't want to do Top 10s any more and I can see why. They probably shouldn't have caved.
