Seeing this thread pop back up reminds me that I think I'll just have to cancel my Best Buy order.
Not being able to change the shipping address until after it ships, and knowing that maybe won't work either, is not a risk I'm willing to take on $130. Their backward system has made this trivial purchase a nightmare.

So it seems like the only way to get the dlc chapter included is to either buy the digital deluxe edition or the collectors edition? Kind of sucks that there isn't a physical equivalent to the digital deluxe edition, would have preferred to buy the game physical.

The bad news that I've just discovered is that, if you value how these Special Edition boxes that Sony puts out for their PS4 exclusives look, then it appears that whoever is in charge of the design has absolutely destroyed any enthusiasm I once had for how this thing looks.
This is how they advertised it (and are still advertising it in the UK):
The final packaging based on some updated listing on other European retailers:
I mean, just how fucking disgusting does that look? They replaced the gorgeous deep red gradient background for a garish tomato red flat colour. They've replaced the cool embossed looking spider and made it, again, a boring flat white. They've reduced the size of the spider logo to accommodate the name of the game (which doesn't need to be there), and they've changed the logo on the spine to be less pronounced for some silly reason. It all looks so cheap and nasty for a premium special edition product, and WILL look truly bad on my shelf next to the rest of the good looking PS4 exclusive Special Edition boxes.
Why do these gross designs get signed off when the original art was so, so much more tasteful? Ugh.

jstevenson said that Insomniac would post an update of how the physical editions look once they had them in hand, but we're just over a week away from launch, we know the discs and copies have been manufactured and already in the hands of retailers so it's hard to imagine Insomniac doesn't have a copy of these various collector's editions already.
Do you hear that, we're just over a week from launch and we STILL don't know what the CE steelbook is confirmed to look like.

Many thanks for the heads up that it's back in stock! It really sucks they've changed the design for others within Europe as it doesn't look nearly as good as the original design. I've already pre-ordered the standard edition at this point so I'm a bit hesitant to change it so late in the game. Plus with the added risk that the box might not be what I expect, I'd rather avoid disappointment. I also thought there was more game content included in this version other than the art book and steelbook so I might hold off. It must have been the collectors version that has the DLC etc.
Yes I know and that is why I have been posting daily to see if it has leaked yet. I feel this is a case of spoiler culture gone too far, to ask customers to spend hundreds of dollars blind because of a spoiler likely of a character we have seen in Spider-Man movies, comics and games a million times before.
Its anti-consumer IMO.
My God of War Stone Mason Edition had QC issues that I needed to get replaced, do you think I would have been able to get it replaced if I waited to beat the game and open the statue if it was a spoiler like this? No. This is a really bad move and better not become common.
So, I had to officially change my billing address with my credit card company, so my Best Buy order will not go through.

I tried calling a couple of weeks ago and was told that I couldn't change anything about my order, not the address, payment, shipping or billing info. All of which needed to (and still need to) change.
Did I just talk to someone who didn't know what they were doing?

That's weird, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to make changes to something you bought. If I was you I'd give them one more call and explain the situation.
They said it was because the item was "sold out" that their system wouldn't allow them, or me, to make changes.

I would give them a call today for sure. I don't need to change mine but in the past Best Buy has been one of the better customer services for me.
Granted I was an elite member at the time, but one time I ordered something and got a code to another game, gave them a call and they called me back twice a day to give me an update. Whoever sent to codes to Best buy generated the wrong ones.
Probably no reason to act angry, but being a calm and reasonable person on the phone , reps become very helpful is always my experience! I say that more as it's pretty common to see in other threads people say "I called and demanded xyZ and they didn't do it, they suck"

Dude you'll be able to go into places like target day1 and just buy it. A bunch of retailers are betting big on this game, and will buy extras of whatever they can. I seen GOW collectors around weeks after launch on shelves.. not many, but some.
Target doesn't have GCU, which helps save a bunch with this purchase.
Well, GCU has really locked me into buying things at Best Buy. I can't justify $150 plus tax when I can get the same thing for $120.

I'm still pretty pissed I don't know what the statue looks like. Fuck the whole, "Its a spoiler for the game." thing. I wanna know if what I'm paying for looks good or not so I can downgrade and save money instead of paying for a potentially crappy statue.

Really not a fan of the skill pointsre-order bonus. Screwing up the intended difficulty curve ain't a gift in my opinion. I know I can just never spend them but them but it's going to be annoying always checking that I won't be dipping into pre-order skill points when upgrading.
