...the fact that the movie is repeatedly racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and ableist.

OR

...the fact that you see Will Smith's dong. Or maybe it's a stunt dong. Either way , within the first 20 minutes of this movie, you see what appears to be Will Smith's penis. Who would have expected this would be the movie Smith went full dong on? Also the entire scene is watchable on youtube. And the movie is PG-13.

dong.

I liked the movie as a kid and got both sunglasses from Burger King via the movie tie-in. I thought those sunglasses were so cool.

I haven't dared revisited the film since way back when.

I like the movie. But yeah, didn't age well. Funnily enough I watched South Park the movie last night and feel it somehow aged better than this movie.

Jon Peters... giant mechanical spider.

"And what walks into view?... A GIANT FUCKING SPIDER!"

The day Kevin Smith explained so much about why Hollywood does what Hollywood does.

On the movie: I have never rewatched this movie since it's original release. All I remember is that Branagh was a good villain, and that's it. Oh right and the spider.

Truly, TRULY bad, but the bit where Will Smith fights them henchmen inside the giant steampunk spider, big Elmer Bernstein score in the background, was fun.

I thought it was pretty neat when I was... like, 11 I guess?

I'm not shocked to hear that it hasn't aged well.

Will Smith turned down THE MATRIX for this movie.

Granted the idea of the maker of Men in Black reuniting with Will Smith for a fantastical steampunk western spy comedy romp sounds like the perfect movie (to me) but WOOF man.

I saw it when I was a small child and kinda liked it. Watched it again...

Still kinda like it.

I always enjoyed Cartman (and Artemis Clyde Frog) being super into the movie on South Park which is a bit ironic since South Park: BLU was in theaters at the same time.

We all remember the Will Smith song, but remember that this movie's soundtrack also gave us this gem:

The soundtrack also gave us the world's second Dre/Eminem collab (the year 1999 ended up giving us 3 of those!):

I'm glad he turned it down, Keanu is great in The Matrix. Smith would have def pushed the tone to the goofier.

I haven't seen it in ages, but I've always really liked the theme song. Don't @ me.
