No, but I'm not seeing anything about the game that elevates it to "best FG on Switch".
Remember it was a 3DS game, then for some reason they thought a big fighting game audience was on vita so cancelled the 3DS version for a vita version, then that version dissappeared as they announced a PS4 and XB1 version and then that also disappearedEspecially for how well they handled their last great fighting game!...
It was a such a great time never being able to play this fucking game even after the kickstarter and DLC...
Hah I honestly thought that was Quote
No problem. Some people evidently don't know about them and those of us that do have never had all their shitty antics compiled in one place to point people to; so I finally took the time to dig up all the examples I could still find on the internet.Thank you for taking the time to explain in such detail!
That's indeed some shitty history und much more than I expected :(
No crouching attacks, weird items, and a dedicated block button kind of pushed me away.
Ok thanks.
I came in here to say something, but instead read this about SNK Heroines? Seriously? Holy crap.
Import itAll in for Gunvolt! It's a shame that it's not releasing physical in Europe. :/
And I'm kind of wondering how the animation is handled. The characters look like 3D models but all the videos I've seen of this game are terribly grainy.
It's for those who enjoyed Asuka 120% Burning Fest, the Sailor Moon Tourney at Evo, still Play Breakers Revenge, and know how to do actual combos in the Neo Geo Double Dragon Fighting game. For those who played Fighters Destiny and Deadly Arts on N64, remember the music of Doomsday Warrior and Tuff'E'Nuff on SNES, or the ads for Mondu's Fight Palace / Tounge of the Fatman / Slaughter Sport. Or those who actually played Battle Fantasia online a few times.
Basically, it's a fighter for those who loved the odd, obscure, and try games for more than "My friend said it's popular!". Arturo on WNF kept on mentioning how much he loved having a game that felt like The ones you played in arcades, when the big stuff was crowded, and you had to wait your turn.
I'm kinda worried about the lack of reviews for the game still.
The embargo lifts on launch day. We only got review code last night.
I captured a bunch of footage last night -- we are limited to capturing Versus/Training mode only.

Blade Strangers for Nintendo Switch | Quote vs. Kawase Gameplay
Blade Strangers for Nintendo Switch | Gunvolt vs. Lina Gameplay
See, that's me, but I feel absolutely nothing for this game.
Ironically, I think all the indie cameos kinda hurt the game--it doesn't feel like an "indie all-stars" game so much as Nicalis forcing a bunch of characters into a Saizensen game because nobody else would work with him.

Training mode is the same basic training mode you will find in other games. You have Dummy options, can record/loop actions, set your gauge to a certain amount, etc...Can you comment on how extensive (or not) the training mode options are?
They couldn't get the rights because
How is the combat system? I haven't played Saizensen's fighting games beforeTraining mode is the same basic training mode you will find in other games. You have Dummy options, can record/loop actions, set your gauge to a certain amount, etc...
If you want to learn move combinations, the Mission mode does a better job of that because the missions literally ask you to perform a string of moves and combos.
Nicalis has been awesome on Switch.People who still respect Nicalis? So, like, someone who's never heard of them I'm guessing? Lol.
I'll probably cop this for the hell of it. I only know about 3 characters but if it's fun it's all good
ed:block button, eh? maybe not
Block button isnt in Blade Strangers i'm pretty sure.I'll probably cop this for the hell of it. I only know about 3 characters but if it's fun it's all good

Yep, it's probably my favorite pure platforming series. If someone told me five years ago that Umihara Kawase would be in a fighting game, I would have laughed in their face.I'm in for Umihara, not even mentioned in the OP.
One of my favorite game series.

They should put Astro Boy in it, I mean he is in that crossover puzzle game after allI'm only interested because Gunvolt is there, probably won't buy it.
