Controlling Cappy isn't for kids, unless maybe they've never played a video game before. Kids want to play as Mario!
Best to only let them use a single joycon - they won't be able to work out how to control the camera so there won't be any conflicts.
Also I feel the need to point out, given the lack of reverence shown for Rare by certain 'cast members, that Banjo-Kazooie did a lot of the things that make Odyssey great almost two decades ago!

Regarding the handheld TGA nomination talk, I agree Ever Oasis is a pretty mediocre game. Culdcept Revolt would have been a better choice it my opinion. And while we're on the subject of TGAs, Sonic Mania at least deserved a nom for best music (even though y'all are just gonna vote for Nier 2 anyway).
Yeah there's a definite spoiler warning beforehand. They come off pretty harsh on the show, I agree with John. It's just stupid fun, not the second coming of christ or something.
I really wanna hear about the Trump special edition burger. Ah well 2 more weeks.

Nice to see a general thread for 8-4 play, it has proven great for other podcasts such as Retronautsas it keeps the community toghether.
BTW the Chip Tanaka album is fire! Thx for reminding me. Also, love it when they talk about someone and inmediately say "friend of the show"... specially knowing that most of the time is true.

I'm a podcast fanatic and haven't dove into 8-4 Play yet, but I know I need to... any good episodes to get started with, or should I just jump into the latest in the feed?
It's basically neogaf/resetera in podast form except they actually know everyone in the industry.
I find their comedy timeless and it's great to just play random episodes to pass the time.
Listen to one and see if you like the style. They do it for fun so no ads*
To me, the most memorable episode is the E3 preview from whatever year they debuted the Quad City DJs sound bit. They've brought the hype train back in subsequent years, but their commitment to the gag was amazing during that first E3.

Notable episode shoulda include 8-4 Play Episode 1 the Lost Level.
Regardless of it's current whereabouts and contents.
