How Not to Summon a Demon Lord - 08 ...and subsequently episode 7 I guess.

Wow WOW WOOOOOOOOW!!

This has to be the most tone deaf thing I've seen this season, and by god I thought the xxx rated Spa scene with the toe sucking from Smart Phone From Another World II would be the undisputed incinerated trash this season.

So this show is trash, enjoyable trash but trash nonetheless I acknowledge this, but my god so in episode 7, Shera's brother uses a flute to brainwash Shera to bring her back to elf land, he uses cloth melting slime because Isekai, because this show is trash but he plans to... rape her and make babies, while Shera is brainwashed this show had the gall to try and make our main character depressed with abandonment issues even though he acknowledges he heard the flute which probably brainwashed her before she left so that was a waste of scenes.

So obviously our main characters catch up to Shera and her brother, who then summons a hydra, cue episode 8 where obviously overpowered character is overpowered, Shera's swell bro gets his comeuppance aaaand we get a sad scene from Shera this scene even has sad BGM to tell us that she's sad and it's a sad moment, I mean she tells us in one line that they used to laugh together, but it's never shown or alluded to in any other fashion, he never gives his own personal monologue on how he's pressured as a prince or something, anything, we're just supposed to accept that Shera's sad despite what he tried to do 5 minutes ago.

Thank god for Overlord, this season or I'd be losing my sanity over the Isekai genre.

Recently saw Flavors of Youth and really enjoyed it. It's a very subdued film, it doesn't have Your Name levels of intrigue, or even necessarily the same amount of outwardly evocative emotion.

Where it really shines though is in being a story about something few stories I see are. It's not really about romance, or striving towards a dream, or the power of friendship. It's about coming to terms with getting older, and coming to terms with the the mistakes you made in your youth that you can't undo, along with all the wonderful things from being young that you can't re-live. I think it taps into a pretty universal feeling that, all the same, isn't really covered by a lot of media. They do a good job of capturing why these characters look back on their youth fondly, why they are anxious being where they are in life, and it actually does a nice job of giving each of the three stories a conclusion that allows each character to be optimistic with where they're going while making each ending feel earned.

Definitely one worth watching, especially since it isn't too long either.

Railgun 10

DAMMIT SATEN :/ I blame the rest of the gang for being insensitive, shallow and not telling anyone about the side effects. Like c'mon.
Didn't expect that culprit reveal tbh. Also the actual effect of Level Upper is pretty interesting. Wonder what the actual goal is here.

Railgun 11

Some cool action and backstory time~
Also yo wtf at that scene at the end :O
This is some good shit.

Nothing gets me more hyped up than the Opening song used as an insert song during the climactic fight <3
Misaka kicking ass here with some sick action. Good Uiharu moment too.
Great stuff. I like the theory behind the whole AIM Burst. It also had a cool design :P
Great conclusion to this first big arc, looking forward to what comes next, and hopefully a new Opening as well.

Yeah, that art and design is definitely a downgrade compared to the manga but it's not bad

Man, I feel like Uruka got hit the worst here, which is a shame since she's unquestionably the best girl. Then again, it's a really subtle thing (the hair colour doesn't bother me at all, I just feel like there's something subtly less cute about the whole shape of her face) so maybe it's just me looking too hard at this particular image and it'll look fine in motion.

Hoping against hope that this turns out well because I lowkey love the manga, 100% fluff though it is.

Banana Fish 8

Ah dammit, this show's starting to draw me in again. Really liking how they developed the plot with Shorter; he could hardly avoid betraying Ash with the Chinese lot using his sister's life as leverage, but he's been a goddamn heroic badass in his determination to protect Eiji despite everything.

The revelations about Banana Fish are intriguing as heck, too. I wasn't sure how a simple drug could be worth all this hyping up, but the potential for brainwashing makes it an order of magnitude more ominous. I wonder how that nasty application might wind up playing into the actual plot...

Shichisei no Subaru 8

A virtual training ground for real-life Senses, with Propheata as its ultimate goal, huh. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. It was always pretty obvious that there was more to this "game" than meets the eye, and this pretty much explains it all.

Oh, and that mystery girl who keeps showing up is totally a member of the original Subaru guild who's been wiped from everyone's memories somehow, isn't she. It did always seem odd that there were only six members in the guild despite it being named after a cluster of seven stars.

Digibro latest video is real something.
Is it that big of a problem that Crunchyroll is funding a show that may not be "Traditional anime"?
However, this is coming from a guy who said watching anime on illegal streams is ok and other pretty toxic opinions.

Pokemon Sun & Moon 87

Oh hi there Necrozma, fancy seeing you here.

Watching all the grown-ups in the whole of Alola transform into sleepy layabouts was far more entertaining than it had any right to be. Props to Lusamine and co for taking care of what needed to be done despite their extreme lethargy.

Definitely. I think that the designs on the anime are worse than the manga but they're still good enough. Except for Uruka which seems bigger for some reason and Rizu's hair color which for some reason is different.

And the best girl is Fumino hehe but I like all of them

No problem. Crunchyroll already fund anime every season as part of different committee so it's not like they're not investing in the market.

This has been a pretty entertaining watch so far all things considered, but I don't think it actually helped myself remembering the Index storyline much, lol.
If you're watching Railgun to try to remember Index, it's probably a lost cause.
The only Index/Railgun storyline that really crosses over is the Sisters/Accelerator Arc(Arc 3 in Index, Arc 2 in Railgun manga, but all the way in Railgun Season 2 anime).
For some reason the second halves of both Railgun anime seasons are mostly anime-original stuff that's mostly ignored in future stuff(although, I think some things got retconned in).

Banana Fish Episode 8

The way they have Shorter taking care of Eiji, like, its becoming my fav OTP in this anime.

What was the point of burning the scientists house, wouldnt they need his documents if they wanted to make more Banana Fish?

Also dont really understand why they needed to get Ash and go to bring to New York, seems kind of silly to bring them even closer to Eiji

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable 1

I immediately like Josuke a ton. Really interesting color palette on the show. The immediate premise is a lot weaker than Part 3, but still excited to see where it goes. Josuke's Stand power is also a lot more interesting than any of the main characters of Part 3.

edit: like 3 minutes into episode 2

jesus fucking christ

Diamond is Unbreakable 2-6

Koichi's Stand power is really awesome. Also his voice actor sounds somewhat familiar and I can't really place it. Josuke's fights so far have all been great too. I think this is starting off better than Part 3 overall.

Hi everybody! I'm new here. Actually, i've been stalking ResetERA since day 1, then i started to stalk AnimeERA too. (because i don't have access to paid e-mails).
Now i have access to paid e-mail (since i just started college, i got myself a student mail!).

I enjoy watching anime a lot, my favorites (top ten) are:
  1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  2. Steins;Gate
  3. Gurren Lagann
  4. Kill La Kill
  5. My Hero Academia
  6. Made in Abyss
  7. Jojo : DiU (i bet Golden Wind is going to rank higher than My Hero Academia, in my list, of course)
  8. Haikyuu!!
  9. Barakamon
  10. A Place Further Than The Universe
Quite an overrated list, right? I agree! It's because i'm easily impressed!

I also love Houseki no Kuni. I was browsing AnimeERA thread back then, and then i saw a fellow user named Ascheroth praising Houseki no Kuni, so i thought why not give that anime a shot? Glad i did. Thanks, Ascheroth!

Welp. Guess I'll have to rewatch it. I remember watching Season 2 while it aired, which was... 7-8 years ago now, damn. On the plus-side Railgun kind of made me want to rewatch Index anyway and it's a fun watch on its own.

I have been meaning to check this out already couple of times while browsing Netflix. Really should just take a leap. Sounds like my kind of film.

I can assure you MOST people who are FMA BroHood fans have not watched FMA.
I mean, I like Brotherhood more and I watched FMA(2003) when it first came out. The original is better during the first section up til maybe the Greed fight while Brotherhood should have maybe spent more time on setup as opposed to skipping past the few few arcs just to get to the new stuff.

I enjoy Brotherhood more as someone that loved the manga.

Gundam Build Divers 20
This is definitely the worst Gundam series ever. No ifs or buts.
To those who thought Build Fighters Try was bad, Build Divers laughs in your face.

This episode wasn't that bad, though trying to erase Sarah is dumb.

And anyone who tries to argue AGE is better than Try OR Divers is silly. Try and Divers are TRYING to be fun. AGE didn't have the balls to go with the core concept it set up itself.

The germs and parasites in Cells At Work sure do bleed a lot. We should go even deeper and make a show about THEIR blood cells. It's funny how violent this show really is despite its adorable exterior.

I dunno, it's mostly different flavors of bad. Try had some moments that were good (mostly relying on goodwill from the original GBF), but had way more that were just terrible. Divers just feels more consistently bland, and I can't really feel much anything towards it aside from a few chuckles at some references. Neither really stack up to AGE though, which was both far too long and pretty much terrible throughout.

Feel free to call me silly. AGE is not very good but it shits on Build Divers from a great height. In general, references is the only thing the series has going for it and everything else is poor. It doesn't even succeed at being fun.
The only mildly interesting episode is the one with the gunpla fight outside GBN.

Everyone has their own opinion, but I disagree. I like the cast of GBD. The show is relaxed, and I do find it fun. (Fun enough to not hate myself for having to write 900 word recaps every week, lol.) AGE was just a pain to get through, and a half decent middle third doesn't solve the boring beginning and abysmal ending.

I'll throw my fallacious argumentum ad populum in here and point out that apparently the TV ratings are atrocious so I guess there's more people who disagree with you than those that agree.

That's not a real argument anyway lol. I'm not saying GBD is the best Gundam series, I'm saying I enjoy it and that it's better than AGE. It's already firmly cemented itself as the worst "Build" show however.

Last series I finished was Record of Lodoss War OVAs (1-12).

Story was pretty disjointed, but solid. And the animation was legitimately awesome in its 90's detail.

STOP
Build Divers is the best of the bunch of these build series, in fact, its the best one. Everything about it is pure and love.
Everything about it is boring and low-stakes. At least in build fighters there was the possibility of having your (sometimes expensive) gunpla ruined.
Morally ugly people full of hate is one of the best things about Gundam. The best thing is morally grey people full of doubt.

Even without her system destroying powers Sarah should be erased.
I'm just trolling. It is true though that I don't care about her being erased. It's not even clear whether she's sentient AI or merely a sufficiently advanced automaton that looks like one.

Statements like this make me wonder if you watched the series. She's obviously an impossible Marvel.

That's why it is fallacious.

Lol, moral ambiguity is largely a fiction, and always has been. Though, I guess this IS fiction so maybe I wrote myself into a corner there lol.

I have been on the hunt for these OVA's for a long time now. I really need to rewatch them since it has been years that I forgot everything that happens which means I consider it unwatched.

One day...
