I know it came out in June but I never got the chance to ask. Is there anything you could say about Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle's sales for PS4 and Switch?
And before release some ppl said it shouldn't be $60.lolEvery publisher needs to stand up and notice that a $60 retro, mid-budget JRPG is an American top seller in 2018.
Joke post I hope? It was top three for three months and even now it's still in the top 20. Those are amazing legs, so not sure what you're talking about.I think Sony's pricing strategy certainly hurts the initial legs of a game. Everyone's conditioned to wait for the price drop to $40 or cheaper. GOW will certainly be available for $30 if not $20 on Black Friday
If you're not first, you're last. Probably. But ... it demonstrably has not hurt God of War. What am I missing?
The biggest news here is GTA5 being at #2.
It came out 5 years ago for fuck's sake.
July tracking period ran July 8 - August 4.
WWG launched on Aug 3.
Yes and no. He made a tweet about how so many people were realizing the game was bad a few days after the game had launched.Did Jason say the game was gonna bomb? I thought he just didn't like it. Why everybody keep bringing him up
Because it was NOA and not SE. SE seems to be doing everything in their power to ensure the game doesn't sell as well as it could for some reasonThey really did nail the promotion for octopath. Gave it plenty of spotlight in directs and the 2nd demo especially was perfect
That was forced to. They're required to release Fifa once on every platform as part of their license. 19 is, afaik, a roster update
All three games did much better in the regions Square Enix didn't handle publishing.
Can't wait to see what sequel they can make with a third of the budget
You'd be wrong. They are updating and improving numerous aspects of FIFA 19 for Switch release. It may lack the Journey mode, but it isn't a simple roster update. FIFA 18 sold very well on Switch. That was forced to. They're required to release Fifa once on every platform as part of their license. 19 is, afaik, a roster update
That's on him he don't like. He's rude for trying to push that dislike on ppl but again nothing to do with sales. It sold it's regarded as a good game, any Jason mention is just pettiness to counter his pettinessYes and no. He made a tweet about how so many people were realizing the game was bad a few days after the game had launched.
Not explicitly saying it would flop, but he seemed to be very determined to push the narrative that the game was bad, and everybody thought it was bad.
If i was an EA shareholder id be asking a lot of questions about the money being left on the table
There is a reason why Frostbite never got ported to Switch....its easier to answer these questions when you can just say that our house engine doesn't support the console.
I don't care for EA but it's a bummer that we are never going to see a Stat Wars title on Switch.
Nope 19 is a big update compared to 18 on Switch. You had a video from IGN saying that 19's biggest improvement is the Switch version.
They added the option to make online matches with friends and made FUT richer. They are also releasing a new SKU for the game, the Champion's Edition.
Of course they did, those regions are much bigger than Japan. The contrary happening would be strange.
Wow Go Vacation bomba.
I thought it would be a sleeper hit, better than Captain Toad.
Cut the price Nintendo and im in
selling 1M for the kind of game it was was an amazing achievement. giving the sequel a smaller budget was dumb as fuck.
and that went on to sell 700K!
so what do you do for the next game? massively undership and miss an important holiday in japan. great fuckin move. they may have already greenlit more games from Asano's team, but damn they fucked up from obvious cues. thank god for Nintendo saving those games
and they're still not applying these lessons to Dragon Quest 11
Why? It's almost 5 years old and until this month it was the top system seller all year. They'd be leaving money on the table specially with Spiderman next month. Is got rdr marketing, they are set for the holidays with maybe some black Friday sales. Maybe next year there might be a permanent reduction on price but right now they wouldn't drop it
Nah. They are probably more than ok selling what they will last month and this month. Next month they have Spider-man dropping in the first week of sept. Already seeing people say they will buy a PS4 when it drops. Sony isn't going to leave that money on the table.
Then in Oct. They have marketing the RDR2 and COD. Best thing to hope for is a holiday price drop during Black Friday.
O boohoo he don't like it ppl. If he ain't say it was gonna bomb they just being petty. My god act like children around here
All that matters is #1 famMy first thought was 'holy shit, that's amazing! What a great message to third party Switch devs!
Then I looked at the rest of the list.
#2 is a 2013 game
#3 is a 2014 game
# 4 is a collection of 3 games from 1996-1998
So still good, but not the greatest competition in there.
I don't disagree lol, I was just giving you the context. Jason likes what he likes, no point dredging all that up again. That's on him he don't like. He's rude for trying to push that dislike on ppl but again nothing to do with sales. It sold it's regarded as a good game, any Jason mention is just pettiness to counter his pettiness
Go vacation sales trend is interesting. It had a tame launch in Europe but didnt went down since and managed to chart in the top5 for the first time multiple weeks after launch like in Spain or France and even #1 in Italy.
Game has the potential to be indeed a sleeper hit, and I would expect sales to pick up a lot during the Holidays.
I dunno how you look at EA's portfolio and think they are leaving huge money on the table ignoring Switch. When has EA ever been like "we sold 1m units, huge huge success"?
The only game I think EA should have on Switch is Garden Warfare. Otherwise I am not seeing it. Hopefully Fifa 19 does solid on Switch since they seemingly made a good update to it over 18.
Their big Holiday game is Battlefield though.Look at how well ports and remasters are doing. As someone else pointed out, the chart features
A game built in the style of 1995
A 5 year old game
A 4 year old game.
A collection of 90s games.
And minecraft is on there too.
Clearly state of the art graphics is not a prerequisite for profits.
Did I miss something? Wanna know if I should cancel that PS4 pre-order or not. That's too bad, it would be very interesting to see Crash, especially in light of the "secret" Switch release of Spyro.
Well Square Enix wasn't even planning on releasing Bravely Default outside of Japan so I doubt they expected it. It only happened because Nintendo wanted to release it worldwide.
Sure, one does not forbid the other. It's a joke. But none of that has anything to do with this thread and sales...he doesn't like the game. Congratulate said game instead of that pettiness
Basically this ^.Yes and no. He made a tweet about how so many people were realizing the game was bad a few days after the game had launched.
Not explicitly saying it would flop, but he seemed to be very determined to push the narrative that the game was bad, and everybody thought it was bad.
Oh absolutely. It's still in a more good-humored way than what he did say in the past, and still do.That's on him he don't like. He's rude for trying to push that dislike on ppl but again nothing to do with sales. It sold it's regarded as a good game, any Jason mention is just pettiness to counter his pettiness
oh yeah, garden warfare is a good exampleI dunno how you look at EA's portfolio and think they are leaving huge money on the table ignoring Switch. When has EA ever been like "we sold 1m units, huge huge success"?
The only game I think EA should have on Switch is Garden Warfare. Otherwise I am not seeing it. Hopefully Fifa 19 does solid on Switch since they seemingly made a good update to it over 18.
Wow Nintendo.
Some Era members prolly pulling their hair out seeing ppl keep buying Nintendo games at full price.
