I think people actually need to see the game before we predict 3m sales.

And lets be honest. Nintendo would be better off not naking Metroid ever if they were concerned about sales.
well, we can wait then.

as for the second statement, I think that's true but to a certain extent.. It doesn't have to be super successful, but I think the entries have to do a certain amount, or else it'd be dead. So I'd say they're somewhat invested in its sales

our team has a reverse situation.
last year we had surreal huge growth because of reasons. so the suits gave us even more surreal goals. we don't match them so we get costant beef. it's hilarious.
I hate the grow or die mindset. My company is on an efficiency horse. The underlying issue with that is that if your basic function comes down to unique problem-solving, there's not a lot of repeatable actions to trim the fat from. And if you take the time to make the repeatable processes you create efficient from the get-go, there's no fat to trim from the processes you set up. Therefore, you could be doing your work extremely efficiently, but since you don't have a lot of efficiency gains to be had, you're not doing "well."

Am I remembering wrong or is Metroid Prime 4 not being developed internally? I wouldn't be so sure it'll be the best-selling Metroid. I would have bet on it being the best-selling Metroid if Retro had been at the helm, but who knows how the game will be received with new developers behind it.

Funny how history repeats itself. Everyone probably said this about Retro and Prime 1.
Regardless, Prime 4 is being developed by a "new team". Not much else is know, besides some roumors that Namco is developing it (which I dont believe, personally).

GTAV could make it to the top spot. On the one hand, it was discounted and it will hurt it on a revenue chart, on the other hand it is GTAV on sale so a lot of people should have bought it...

yeah, with digital I'm not sure Octopath will still take. I think aquamarine kinda hinted at 218k but we'll see.

Wonder if Nintendo will have PR since leaks seem like they had a great month.

Also 218k may take it. Not sure what could beat it outside GTAV. God of War could maybe? I'm not sure if it can sell that much in its 4th month especially during the summer.

When was the last time Nintendo did PR?

struggling to remember.

maybe Octopath being number 1 and Switch HW being number 1 would make them do it.
If so, they could give us Tennis numbers possibly.

I know July was a slow month for releases, but Octopath at #1 is still a satisfying combination of hilarious and awesome.
