idk if he had any interest in the medium whatsoever, but I would've absoloutely loved to have seen a game made by Kurt Cobain as weird as that sounds.

His artwork looked like it fits right in with LIMBO or ODDWORLD or something:

I'd take Tarantino to do a Quantic dream style game.

Give me the russos for action.

Kim Krans. I love her art style very much. After looking at it for years, I finally ordered her "Wild Unknown" tarot deck, but she's known for quite a few things. I'd love to see her grim, cerebral, spacey, natural, colorful style translated into a game. Maybe something similar to Journey. Here are a few examples of her work from the deck:

Denis Villenueve. He's been crushing it recently in the films he has made (Bladerunner 2049, Arrival) and a lot of his filmmaking and cinematography pushes boundaries of audience viewing. Ripe for video game collaboration.

Edit: Denis did Arrival, not Revenant as I mistakenly said.

Most of my favorite postrock bands.

65daysofstatic's soundtrack for NMS was amazing, we need more postrock in games.

I would love for Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) to work on a soundtrack specifically for a game.
Preferably his more ambient stuff.

One of my favorite movie directors is David Lynch, and just now I found out that he almost teamed up with Bandai in the late 90s to make an Adventure Game called Woodcutters from Fiery Ships.

The idea of a creative person with such a distinctive visual and textual style as him working on video game is such an amazing idea. Someone like him or maybe Werner Herzog, people who (probably) don't play games or know much about them, that could bring new and unusual ideas from outside the industry and potentially present new perspectives to overused genres and concepts.

What creative people you wished would work on a video game? Like a painter, a writer, or a film director for example. Which genre you think this person would be perfect for?
David Lynch and a video game eh?

Zack Snyder
I want him to make a unique video game like 300 or Sucker Punch.

I wish Amon Tobin was still doing game OST's. AFAIK - he hasn't done one since Prototype.

Junji Ito x Hideo Kojima, or Junji Ito x FROM Software/Miyazaki. Those two I feel like would make good gameplay use of the horror of Junji Ito.

Would love to have Damso doing the soundtrack for a philosophical/sf game. His weird futurist trap/pop/rap music, along with his beautiful lyrics, would give a strange yet awesome OST for a game set in space with some weird philosophical stuff about individuality, a la Gurren Lagann/Evangelion.

Sam Raimi on a super hero game. His depiction of Spider-Man is so unique. A christian/oedipian interpretation of the character, I would like to see how this kind of stuff would translate in a video game.

Jodorowsky on an adventure/sf game. Just let him go wild. If he was interested in video games, he would create some weird gameplay gimmicks, in a game 100% focused on gameplay, with almost no scenario, since I'm sure he would be the type of guy who would think video games are all about gameplay.

I would love Gloryhammer to license and score a game based on their albums "Tales from the Kingdom of Fyfe" and "Apocalypse 1992: Rise of the chaos wizards" into action adventure RPG power metal operas.

Denis wasn't behind the Revenant, that was Innaritu. But I was going to say the same, a third Snatcher with Denis involved would be crazy.

Also, Alex Garland. He HAS already written for videogames, but I'd like to see him be a lead director on one someday.

Junji Ito would be an interesting one, but who to pair him with? I think his stark, surreal feel could match the games that Ice Pick Lodge put out (The Void and Pathologic). The gameplay would probably suck but the visuals and tone would be amaaaazing.

Alex Garland should write/direct the story for a space station horro/sci-fi game like Prey or System Shock

Quite like to see if Mark Z Danielweski could write a video game based in some part on House of Leaves - it would be a bit like Silent Hill mixed with a Resident Evil mansion.

I'm also aware that I've mentioned this before...

I would love to see Nicolas Winding Refn work on a game, his movies are pure style so it would translate nicely to a game.

Thanks for the correction! A bit of googling and I knew his name rang a bell: Ex Machina and Annihilation (directing) and the screenplay for 28 Days Later. What a resume this guy has. Enslaved was a favorite sleeper hit of mine, especially with Andy Serkis involved. I don't even view DmC (2013) as a sour note for him because there was a lot more wrong with that entry than the story, which I felt was competent.

This is a really good pick.

Mine would be Gaspar Noe. I don't know what he would come up with but I'm sure it would be mind blowing.
