The raytracing hardware won't use power when you're not doing raytracing (and when you are doing raytracing then the dedicated hardware for it is likely to be an order of magnitude - or two - more energy efficient than doing it any other way).

I'd be surprised if these cards weren't at the very least matching 10XX series perf/W metrics (at stock clocks of course). And those are the most efficient GPUs we have right now.

With the FE Ti coming OC'd, what's the stock clock for the new Ti?

The 2070 and 2080 Ti are roughly in the noise (though the switch to 8+8 makes me suspicious that sustained loads are going to be much higher than the specs would indicate), but the 2080 fares really poorly next to the 1080 (again, judging on the limited specs we have right now).

Obviously, all that energy did not go into the traditional cores, as those are only modestly increased over Pascal. It could end up as you say, but I'm not as optimistic here (though much of this is because Pascal set a very high bar).

There's a PCEra Discord?!

OP:

tGKe2ZK.png

The SteamERA Community was founded on Discord on October 2017, a stranded bunch of SteamGAF who united together and embraced on what we thought was the end of times. However as more people joined we found hope and soon started to formulate and plan for the future. This thread would not be possible without the community we have on Discord and I encourage all of you to join if you have not.

You can join this amazing community on Discord with this hidden link that you need to quote:

Was really hoping Death Mark would come to PC. It's really nice that more major Japanese games are coming to Steam but it feels like the smaller stuff is starting to slow down. Aksys hasn't brought anything new to Steam this year and NISA is starting to slow down on PC ports. Ghostlight has been pretty good but I wonder if their output on PC will slow down now that they're doing Switch ports.

I totally get that Switch is the big thing now and these titles do well there (I think?) but it's still kind of a bummer.

Imagine a bunch of drunk ban punchers but without the anime. That's more or less what happened.
Yeah, we certainly needed the animé to seal the hilarity.

Being woken up at 2am and checking Discord and....oh.

Oh.

Ok.

Seriously though, we are a nice bunch and you all need to join in the fun anyway!

Gamescom brings the best games to Steam:

How does this get a store-page and various VNs are delayed til the new store features are implemented? Weird.

Speaking of weird - does anyone know what the deal is with Sekiro in Southeast Asia? I'd like to at least have the option to pre-order it early, but still no price here in Malaysia. Any official word on when pre-order will go live?

I'm not saying that the discord today accurately represents what you'll find in the discord on a daily basis, but... it happened.

Nice, but that date, seriously? September is packed enough already, I hope at least pricing will be good.
Wait ReCore Steam version is W10 only?? WTF, lmao.
I mean, I always thought that's the whole point, to release more UWP games on Steam so force more people to install the damn thing even if they refuse to use WinStore. I wonder if it's really UWP version and Valve allowed non-exe launcher on Steam, but I somewhat doubt it.

Maybe recore desperately needs dx12 just like halo2 needed dx10 and vista with that unmatched dx7 feel.
