I haven't had such chills from a trailer since Evil Within 2's reveal trailer at E3 last year and any MGS V trailer before that.

The moment they all began with 'Can you hear me?' FUUUUCK. Goosebumps.

I'm so glad it's a 2019 date. No way I could have gotten it this year.

Also I wonder if Mobius 1 will be in the game at all?

Mobius Squadron is....sort of. Supposedly the PSVR campaign is about the IUN which Mobius Squadron turned into. They still have the ribbon insignias.

Also some thing Mihaily or whatever his name is (The rival) might be Cipher. I have my doubts but it would be nice to see a protagonist return. (He says he felled pilots like "us" from different generations. So Belkan War era?)

Indeed it is.

Oh, on a side note, I wonder if Bandai Namco would be gratuitous enough to give us emulated versions of arcade Air Combat and Air Combat 22, even if it was a pre-order bonus / DLC.

Uh, I had no idea that this was made by Bandai Namco Studios, I thought it was externally. And Bandai Namco Singapore is there as well.

Looks really good.

Definitely going to pick this up. Thanks to PSVR causing me to pay attention, limited as it apparently is.

I've actually only ever played 4 back in the day, which I recall loving. It's been so long that I don't remember as much craziness, outside of the last stage having you fly through areas a jet really had no business flying through...

Are the older games (still?) worth going back to, actually? Just out of curiosity.

"There are pilots like you in every generation. And I felled every last one of them"

If it actually links with aces from other games (Mobius One, Razgriz Squadron, Garuda, Pixy) that´s going to be such a cool thing. They definitely should explode connections to previous entries. I got chills watching the trailer. Not "Ace Combat 4-5-0-6 trailer" levels of chills but close enough!

Nahhh, pilots like Blaze or Cypher were explicitly stated as being done with any war in their respective games before anyone could take them down.

Goddamnit why it's gotta be 2019....

Rewatching the trailer I see TLS, but it's followed by what looks like the F22 with some kind of wing package firing pulse laser blasts? Or is that just blue VFX for some kind of conventional weapon?

I'm a bit confused with the graphic, because it definitely has too many buttons and axis for an Ace Combat title.

Hori typically always has a HOTAS stick either already on the market or in the warehouse, and then they just modify the design for each console, adding in the extra buttons needed for platform compatibility (like the round 360 button, or the PS3/4 PS button). Namco is pretty good about automatically supporting most of the HOTAS including trim control and analog speed on the throttle, but yeah, a few buttons end up being dupes. The cool thing though is that historically the controllers are PC compatible so you can always retire it to steam afterwards.

Thanks for the information! I have a whole HOTAS/pedals set up for PC already so will probably not use this outside of PS4. The joystick does looks good though but unsure about how sensitive and robust it is for simming.

Yes, they are still worth, especially the PS2 trilogy. I think that I played like 10 times and I will replay it one more time before AC7

Just an FYI, Bandai Namco twitter just confirmed that the special AC7 HOTAS flight stick will be available outside of Japan as well, and for both Xbox One and PS4 (in case that wasn't clarified before).

Already preordered the disc, and bought a PSVR just for this game, and I'm waiting on (hopefully) either a price drop on the PS4 Pro, or maybe a die shrink or something that addresses the loud fans.
All I need now is the Steam page to go live and buy that too.

The game looks and sounds very good in the b-roll vid.

EDIT I wonder if they kept the "Operations" system from AC6. Really liked having optional missions, added nice amount of replay value.

I'm fine with the delay. Better to keep this away from the holiday juggernauts. Still my most anicipated game though.

That trailer gives me hella goosebumps. I might be more excited for this than Sekiro or DMC5. I really hope the story doesn't disappoint.

My main concern at the moment is what the explanation for Osean penal squadrons will be. It just seems too inexplicably evil/silly.
