WTH I didn't agree in the last trailer that it sounded like Cranston voicing JJJ but in that trailer I thought it did. Good soundalike if nothing else. Reminds of that episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Hal is broadcasting his unsanctioned radio station.

Here's the one I used last time, but you can choose a YouTube blocker of your choice. Just block videos related to Spider-Man, so keywords like 'Spiderman', 'Spider-Man', 'Spidey', 'Insomniac' etc. Also remember to turn off recommended.
Yeah, gonna have to disable recommended this time, as much as I like it. GOW recommendations became quite annoying.

Been replaying Arkham Knight and it, plus this trailer, reaffirms to me that the a freeflow combat-style system was always destined to be the perfect design for Spider-Man. It works for Batman, but the way Bats leaps across the screen and over enemies just screams Spider-Man; that agility makes much more sense when linked to Spidey's movement. Even the counter mechanic is basically gamified Spider-Sense
As much as I love the combat in the Arkham games, this looks like a signifcant improvement compared to other games that copied Arkham's combat, with the greater mobility, the aerial combat, the more complex gadget use, more environmental interactions, and so on

Kaine's Scarlet Spider suit with stingers I can see making it, I really hope they double dip and give Ben his Spider-Man suit, but they already spoiled us so much lol
I know I'm getting greedy, but I want them to triple dip and give us all three! If some don't make it to the final game, I hope they'll at least add them in the DLC.
Now that I think about it... The Big Time suit being a DLC suit alongside the first chapter of The City That Never Sleeps would be perfect since it features Black Cat. I'd be bummed out if I had to wait a while before I could use that suit, but I think I'd be okay with it just for the reference, lol.

Removing the water puddles makes Spidey sliding through one to start the gameplay lose its effect as there's nothing there anymore and it still splashes :/. I really liked the sliding through the puddle leaving ripples moment from the initial reveal.
Sure the new lighting may look flat or lack the vibrance/contrast it had before for that indoor section, but outside with that same ToD may look much better with the new lighting. It's hard to say. Did I prefer the old one with more puddles and contrast, yes, will I cancel my preorder, no. That's just silly.

This is awesome, seriously. The game really feels like a labor of love. I'm gushing - Spidey is my favorite character in fiction so my expectations are through the roof.

Agree on most of that, but I don't see how compression could factor in when both screencaps are directly from youtube videos. Wouldn't they be equally compressed?
I believe the IGN videos are of lower quality than, say, the PlayStation or Marvel videos. The second image is from this trailer which is currently only available from IGN's channel.

I can't wait to see the video that the YouTuber who compares direct feed footage with low quality, compressed, ripped off YouTube footage will do with Spider-Man. They know how to spot where game devs lie and expose the truth about the real visuals of the game, just like they did with God of War and Detroit: Become Human!Well, this too. Not sure what's up with the textures in this scene from the latest trailer. We've seen better in other post-E3 trailers this summer, so maybe it's just the lighting here?

That's why I am saying it isn't valid, both have compression, but compression artifacts don't show up universal, and it depends on where the upload is coming from. If you watch the open world trailer on Playstations page compared to IGN's there's a difference.

I just never really pictured Jameson has someone who'd behave that way. Outside of his blind hatred for Spider-Man, Jameson deep down seemed like a well meaning man in most of his depictions. Jameson is apparently a hard character to get right, since he often acts like a parody of himself.

Is there any difference doing it in a newspaper than doing it on a podcast? Because he does the same thing with the Bugle.
I never really noticed him doing anything like it in newspaper in most of the previous adaptations of Spider-Man I loved so much.
Making Jameson use nazi tactics in his news makes it pretty impossible to find him sympathetic. Maybe they don't plan on him being sympathetic in this adaption, but the best ones made sure you liked him and maybe even felt sorry for him, to at least some extent.
How is this different from the Bugle's fear-mongering tabloid headlines? It's the same classic over-the-top Jameson rants translated to the modern era of podcasts/radio show

I really hope the photo mode is somehow tied to the photographer side of Peter. Like maybe a shutter sound when you take a screenshot, or he makes general comments or something about it. I'm sure Insomniac thought of it too though so there's a good chance for something like that I'd think.

I was actually thinking about this last night. One of the ways I would possibly open the game (if I was directing) is just have you wake up in a free fall after getting briefly knocked out in a fight with say...The Vulture or someone. Then you have prompts letting you know what to press to swing, etc and off you go!
